No discipline is planned in response to the accidental leak to the media of the name of Afghanistan's CIA station chief. That word from White House spokesman Josh Earnest today.
The inadvertent release was made by White House aides in an email to a print media pool reporter on May 25 after President Obama made a trip to Bagram Air Base outside Kabul.
White House Counsel Neil Eggleston conducted a review of the incident.
According to Politico's Josh Gerstein, "The CIA has declined to comment on the incident or whether its officer was moved out of Afghanistan following the distribution of the pool report, which carried the name through unencrypted e-mail channels and sent it to numerous foreign news organizations closely connected with foreign governments."
