Some U.S. border towns have been infiltrated with Mexican drug cartel interests for so long it’s become a way of life. Sunday on Full Measure, we’ll continue our border reporting by visiting one such town. We’ll hear from longtime residents and workers who frequently navigate corrupting influences.
Also, the influx over the Mexican border you probably haven’t heard about: Cubans. More Cubans have flooded the U.S. than any time since the Mariel boatlift in 1980: more than 40,000 in the past year. Congressman Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, explains why he thinks it’s unfair that Cubans are given a place ahead of other refugees including instant federal aid and a fast track to legalized status. We’ll also talk to some Cuban refugees who just crossed the Mexican border into the U.S. this week.
Last week, amid the Apple-FBI controversy, we reported on the former Qwest CEO who defied requests from a U.S. intel agency that he says wanted to monitor American citizens without the proper warrant.
