Sunday on Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson, Scott Thuman goes Dutch to trace the populist movement rising against the elite establishment in other places besides the U.S. One of Europe’s loudest and most popular voices, Geert Wilders, is calling for closed Dutch borders, a moratorium on mosques and an exit from the European Union (like Great Britain).
Also Sunday, federal agencies and contractors sometimes use your tax dollars like an open wallet to use to retaliate against workers. In one case, a federal worker who blew the whistle at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory got fired– supposedly over $4.00 in phone calls. When she sued for wrongful termination, the federal contractor running the Laboratory spent $10 million tax dollars and eight years fighting her. In the end, she won–but taxpayers lost. Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass) is trying to stop abuses.
We’ll also talk to a senior Republican, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) about his vision for our health insurance system after Obamacare. He claims there’s a lot of fear mongering going on in the media, and that nobody who is now receiving free taxpayer-paid insurance under Obamacare (or subsidies) will be suddenly cut off. He says the old system will be phased out as a replacement is phased in.
