Where’s your favorite information source stand on the political scale?
I’ve updated the following subjective chart based on information compiled from various sources and your feedback. Some sources have shifted left or right, others have been added including: ESPN, McClatchy, the Federalist, Conservative Review, Washington Monthly, Twitchy, Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse.
Please note that outlets on left and right sometimes publish material that’s on the opposite side of the political spectrum, or that has no political leaning at all. The placement is based on perceived overall tone and audience. Position on the chart doesn’t necessarily imply credibility or lack thereof. Sources on far right and far left have, in many instances, produced excellent, factually correct information at times.
I have loosely placed more traditional information sources in the top half of the chart working down toward aggregators, fact-checkers, opinion sites and less news-related sources. (This posed some position challenges since most of traditional information sources are left-leaning.) I did not attempt to place individual programs or broadcasts.
Compiling such a chart is obviously difficult for many reasons, some of them having to do with space. The spacing should be considered relative and not an indicator of absolute position. A number of the information sources technically belong on top of one another.
You have contributed terrific ideas, such as sizing boxes based on audience, and dividing into quadrants. This is a work in progress. Thanks for your input!

Preorder “The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think and How You Vote.”

Thank you, Sharyl. Initially, I don’t look at a publication regarding political bias, but I can tell by the second sentence. It’s annoying. Your “guide” will help me avoid fake news and keep my blood pressure within normal limits. Anything with “Democrats” or the “Democrat Party” is toxic, per se. I need to avoid such trash, and you offer us a large step forward.
I completely agree with the analysis. Notice how a majority of publications are left of center? We’ve got to purge leftist ideology from the university system in this country. Journalism school is merely indoctrination to propaganda.

This comment has no bearing on the CONTENT of the bias chart. It has to do with the readability and visual impact of the chart. Basically, it’s not a chart; it’s a pile of names and has no visual meaning. Scrap this chart and start over with a bell curve or something with a linear (curvilinear) visual. Then place points on the bell curve. You can’t throw marbles in a box and say they’re organized. Now go have fun making a new chart. Charts ahoy.
I believe that Google has more to blame for the far left opinion than even the news sources themselves. Continually throughout Bidens term I would use my phones search engine to research specifics about biased articles I read. They would present all supporting propaganda even when I searched for a specific article or news feed that I had read prior & wished to reference again that gave alternative view, it would not be available in search.
So many people world wide utilize their phones for primary information gathering. In China, they use Android phones not supported by Google machinations. Why isn’t similar English device available in US, minus government controls?
Find this “newspeak” Orwellian nightmare is the primary reason so many Americans can’t find non-biased reporting on political, financial, sciences & social information.
History is correct when it says “If you say something often enough it becomes the truth”.
What steps are required to make ALL information available to citizens in a fair & truthful manner?

Ms. Attkisson’s outstanding books and links to a speech of hers are repeatedly highlighted at OneAmericanPeople.com which launched Our American Movement® on July 4, 2021 featuring an interactive platform for Americans to come together in developing ideas and meaningful actions for our peaceful pursuit of achieving the honesty and political-balance in daily “reporting” by America’s corporate mainstream news media that will bring us together as one American people.
Let’s do something about their systemic-corruptions of politically-biased slant, activist agenda-setting, slanted Dishonest-News assaults (political-smear campaigns), ridicule and fabricated political-correctness by raising awareness of Political-Apparatus that permeates them propagating political-divisiveness as they manipulate “We the People” of America.
