Big names in DC and NY “bracing” for Jeffrey Epstein revelations

A Vanity Fair article BY GABRIEL SHERMAN takes a look at the potential impact of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case.

The following are brief excerpts from Sherman’s article with a link to the full report below.

Vanity Fair: “IT’S GOING TO BE STAGGERING, THE AMOUNT OF NAMES”: AS THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN CASE GROWS MORE GROTESQUE, MANHATTAN AND DC BRACE FOR IMPACT

The questions about Epstein are metastasizing much faster than they can be answered: Who knew what about Epstein’s alleged abuse? How, and from whom, did Epstein get his supposed $500 million fortune? Why did Acosta grant Epstein an outrageously lenient non-prosecution agreement? (And what does it mean that Acosta was reportedly told Epstein “belonged to intelligence”?)

But among the most pressing queries is which other famous people might be exposed for committing sex crimes. “There were other business associates of Mr. Epstein’s who engaged in improper sexual misconduct at one or more of his homes. We do know that,” said Brad Edwards, a lawyer for Courtney Wild, one of the Epstein accusers who gave emotional testimony at Epstein’s bail hearing. “In due time the names are going to start coming out.” (Attorneys for Epstein did not respond to a request for comment.)

Likely within days, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will release almost 2,000 pages of documents that could reveal sexual abuse by “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders,” according to the three-judge panel’s ruling…

…Another person involved with litigation against Epstein told me: “It’s going to be staggering, the amount of names. It’s going to be contagion numbers.”

…How Epstein obtained his fortune is a matter of feverish speculation. His claim to a billionaire-only client list now seems laughable to the bankers I spoke with.

…In the absence of much other information, the reigning theory on Wall Street currently is that Epstein’s activities with women and girls were central to the building of his fortune, and his relations with some of his investors essentially amounted to blackmail.

  1. The only way a boil heals is to get the core OUT and this is a boil on the face of humanity. Tell ALL and prosecute ALL.

    1. With you Ann and Dennis, no slap on the wrist this time around name names, have proof expose one and all. Sharyl please continue to hold all accountable for there actions. Thank You for the awesome reporting you have done and continue to do. GBU.

  2. Maybe Epstein has ties to the concealed laptop of Anthony Weiner. There were rumors of sexual misconduct by Huma Abedin and others (Clinton’s) on the laptop when it was examined by NY detectives…….then silence… Comey clears HRC….

  3. This would be a good time to do some spring cleaning of the supposed elite! Reveal prosecute these rascal and evil people ! Then return to principles and values! I.Am.Marine.

  4. There was some years back, a “Post Office Scandal” where politico’s would go to the Congressional Post Office, to buy a few dollars postage, with a few thousand dollar check from a donor —not nice.

The Senate & House Republicans forced the “list” public, There were both parties members on the list – worth doing again. Let the people decide, as they did then. Some lost office, etc.

In this case, publish the list, let Barr have at it.

  5. Tom Fitzpatrick

Epstein, the “Little Finger” of this modern day Game of Thrones. And, as in the Game of Thrones, anyone can be eliminated at any time.

  6. I SEE IT THIS WAY . THAT MAN WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO TRAIL . HE WILL COME UP DEAD . THIS IS THE HEART OF EVIL IN AMERICA . AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY WONT DO TO STOP IT ., SO KEEP IN MIND NO MATTER HOW THIS MAN DIES . IT IS MURDER . AND MINT TO COVER WHAT COULD REMOVE MOST OF THE TRASH IN D.C. . AND FOR SURE SOME FROM EVERY STATE IN AMERICA . THIS WILL SHOW HOW THE DNC AND HILLARY CLINTON HAS GOTTON AWAY WITH SO MUCH . THE RUEL OF TO DAY IS ( IT IS NOT WHO YOU KNOW, IT IS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE . BUT IT IS WHAT YOU KNOW ON WHO ) AND THAT IS THE HEART OF ALL OF THIS . LOCK THEM UP NO MATTER THERE PARTY. COLOR, MAN OR WOMAN .. LADY JUSTICE CANT SEE . AND THIS IS WHY. THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD MATTER HERE IS REEL JUSTICE

  7. Curious that while decrying Epstein’s influence, Kamala Harris on literally the same day accepted campaign monies from Kirkland and Ellis, the law firm representing Epstein.
And never mind that Harris got San Diego’s serial sexual harrasser Mayor’s (Bob Filner) sentence knocked down to house arrest instead of prison.

  8. I’m bracing myself for the possible revelation that one, or more, of these underage victims were murdered, either to silence them, or ensure the silence of others. The more I think about how long this went on, the more likely the possibility seems to me.

  9. Most likely this will be just more political soap opera. Maybe a few low level token clowns will be exposed but considering all that the Clinton’s got away with I’m not expecting much. If Mr. Trump was involved he needs to be in jail too. As the above comment said…….regardless of party affiliation. A shame Vince Foster and Seth Rich can’t testify.

  10. Epstein is poised to give up a lot of big names. I honestly don’t think they’re going to let him. He’ll “suicide” out before he has a chance to talk. They already found him in his cell with suspicious injuries and he’s now under suicide watch. From what I see, his days are numbered.

I think they need to put Epstein under some serious lock and guard. No one – and I mean NO ONE – should be allowed near him and he should be under 24/7 watch. They need to get as much info from the man as possible and then go after all the others involved.

This isn’t about 1 man. It’s about something bigger, something more sinister. We must not allow it to go unchecked.

  11. I suppose I’m a little more cynical over prosecutors releasing names of politicians to the public. I think any prosecutors interested in gaining more power in public life are beholden to keeping American politicians’ names out of the news here.
