The vast majority of you say that news coverage of Campaign 2020 so far is not fact-based, and is an effort to shape public opinion.

That's according to the latest unscientific poll at Sharyl Attkisson.com.

Ninety-six percent (96%) stated that news coverage tries to shape opinion. The results are similar to a recent Rasmussen poll that also found most respondents believe national politics reporters are pursuing a political agenda rather than reporting facts.

The full results of our survey are below.

Meantime, visit the home page of SharylAttkisson.com and answer our new poll: Do we have a two-tiered justice system in America? (Look for the black box on the right sidebar of the home page or scroll down on the mobile site.)

News coverage of Campaign 2020 so far mostly:

<1% Reflects the facts

96% Tries to shape opinion

3% Both

<1% Not sure/don't know.

Thank you to the thousands who are supporting the landmark case of Attkisson v. DOJ and FBI for the government computer intrusions.

News organizations today want to shape the news. Perfect example is CNN & MSNBC. I used to watch them & Fox but mostly watch Fox now because they do offer other viewpoints rarely seen on the other stations. Every so often I will look at the other 2 but they are so blatant in their hatred of Pres.Trump that I have to turn them off.. There are things I don't like about Pres.Trump but I prefer his policies (not his tweets or name calling).

Sharyl, why are most journalists and the news media so biased?

It is rather sad to see such reporting.
Will it ever return to some sense of normality?
One can no longer call them news programs but political opinion programs.
Even the BBC which makes great programs, documentaries, TV series, and children's programs has lost its ability to present news and current affairs in a fair and balanced way.

I agree with your assessment but wonder if there was ever a normal time considering the ‘journalist’ of yore. Some were pretty far left leaning but we didn’t know that 30, 40 yrs back. I think they only reported ‘what was good for us’. I think a lot of the public is more discerning, I know that I am. I don’t trust any of them unless I can verify.

The Communist, Socialist, Democrat propaganda machines (CNN MSNBC etc.) are already running at top speed to tell you what to think and how to vote. Turn them OFF..

I do not watch cable news at all.
It is not news, but infotainment to their viewers.
Even NPR has gotten in on the "act."
