Mitt Romney’s Twitter alter ego

“Pierre Delecto” strikes back at Romney critics

If there was ever any doubt that Republican Senator Mitt Romney (at least secretly) identifies as vehemently anti-Trump, the Twitter account under the name “Pierre Delecto” may have put that to rest.

Romney recently admitted he was using the “Delecto” pseudonym on social media. Romney told reporters it was “a way to have a private account to see what’s going on.” (Of course, one doesn’t need a private account to “see what’s going on.” Any Twitter user with an account under their real name can privately read whatever they wish without detection.)

Romney was the Republican nominee for president in 2012, beaten out by Democrat Barack Obama. Romney spoke out against Trump in 2016. Trump later endorsed Romney for senate in Utah.

Though Romney didn’t publish very frequently on Twitter under his fake name, the content has garnered him some fans among both liberals and anti-Trump Republicans. Romney used “Pierre Delecto” to express pro-Romney and/or anti-Trump sentiments.

Romney’s tweets are now protected and cannot be seen by ordinary users on Twitter. But a Slate reporter says she captured some highlights, which are excerpted below.

On May 31, Romney’s “Delecto” Twitter account tweeted a conservative writer who had called Romney’s treatment of Trump “non-confrontation verging on spinelessness.” Delecto told the reporter she “needed to take a breath,” and “Maybe you can then acknowledge the people who agree with you in large measure even if not in every measure.”

On June 8, Romney’s “Delecto” Twitter account replied to a CNN report stating that Romney had an “utter lack of a moral compass.” Delecto replied: “Only Republican to hit Trump on [Mueller] report, only one to hit Trump on character time and again…you think he’s the one without moral compass?”

On October 7, a news report noted that Romney called Trump an “unreliable ally.” Fox News’ Brit Hume replied, “Some might say Romney is too.” “Delecto” weighed in, tweeting that Romney is “loyal to principle,” while Trump’s “loyalty [is] to party or person, right Brit?”

  1. I voted for a Romney in 2012 and am very disappointed with him now. Jealousy of Trump probably explains his odd behavior. Most politicians have inflated egos and when they lose
an election, it can get ugly. Romney and Hillary Clinton are two good examples. Their self-centered attitude hurts the country, which is unfortunate.

  2. Romney is surfaced as a sneaky man who does anything to get what he wants. Of course, he has no moral compass, of course he is a carpetbagger, first to MA where he was destroyed by and lost the 1994 senatorial election to Teddy Kennedy (in a Republican year(.
No, no that was not the end!! He came back 8 years later to run for and win the governorship (with democrat help) as he smooched his way to Governor and did nothing but “Romneycare”,(a disaster for residents) ; He then decided to try for President in 2008 . He opposed McCain and then caved to McCain and supported him in 2008 so Romney could be next in line when McCain lost.., Then Romney ran in 2012 and blew it to Obama who was clearly incompetent, Romney carpetbagged to Utah for the comfort of the Mormans to run for the Senate where Republicans always win. and proceeded to undermine Trump by suggesting a voter swap to deny Trump Ohio and Florida.. That failed and he try to sucker Trump into making him Sec. of State. That didn’t work but he did sucker Trump into supporting him for senator in Utah. (who knows why Trump did that???).
Now Romney is exposed as Mr Delecto on Twitter proving he truly is a sneaky underhanded man who “”stole from the poor to give to the rich” (himself). He has been corrupt and a failure and a loser FOR 30 YEARS since the 1990s yet still hangs around and still smelling like a dirty diaper.

    1. Steve Hernon, you are correct. You did not mention that Romney is obsessively jealous of President Trump. Romney is a political pansy marching to his own flimsy ideals…a loser.

    2. Steve Hernon, I think Romney is worse than any of us could have imagined. I follow “And We Know” website & u tube.. Yesterdays post was about Romney& is shocking to say the least. We have been lied to. A lot. The great awakening.

  3. This should kill his political career. I say “should,” because it won’t, no matter how lame Romney made himself appear (and he didn’t need any help on that score.)
He’s the second coming of Jeff Flake.

  4. HIS (EGO) IS A ASS HOLE. IF HE CANT PUT HIS FACE AND NAME OUT THERE . THEN HE IS JEST A COWARD PUNK. SELF SERVING POLICICIANS . AND AMERICA HAS WAY TO MANY OF THEM . AND THIS ONE NEEDS TO GO ON DOWN THE ROAD .

  5. “The French-looking Mr. Kerry” was how Mark Steyn termed another loser. “Pierre” has a nice French ring and “Delecto” suggests delicate tastes. Quite a funny and revealing view of his unconscious. Just too fine a man to sit under the tree of a very large man casting a very deep shadow. Mr. Delecto, of French-Italian mixture, reminds me of the people to this day who proclaim that Shakespeare was a damned upstart who was virtually uneducated and therefore incapable of having written the plays that bear his name. And he’s just a damned ACTOR, to boot!

But then, I use a French pseudonym too…
