Politico: Ukraine interfered in 2016 election against Trump on behalf of Hillary Clinton

With all of the talk about Ukraine, there is some helpful context and background to be found in a 2017 article in Politico.

The following includes excerpts from the article followed by a link to the entire article.

Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire

Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.

The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia. But they were far less concerted or centrally directed than Russia’s alleged hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.

  1. I thought Politico is a left-wing site? Odd, that they would publish a story that seemingly helps Trump and excoriates Hillary. What do you make of that?

      1. ttps://dcwhispers.com/doh-did-you-know-theres-a-treaty-between-the-usa-ukraine-regarding-cooperation-for-prosecuting-crimes/?fbclid=IwAR0jazzSSQJ2HKNiybXUBcDeI1I8WkQC5sX9jaRQN-5tEoOMLnDYhbRS7BM

  2. Thanks, Sharyll. Sean Hannity has been referencing this Politico piece for the past few months on his radio and TV show. I remember when this article came out and how it was quickly “buried” by the mainstream media. Please do what you can to get this back into the light of day and in front of all Americans.

It would also be great if we can get mainstream media to at least mention Eric Ciamarella, the “whistleblower” who’s credibility is abhorrent.

  3. Thank you for fearlessly seeking out the truth! Your career would have been much easier if you had just gone along to get along, but you chose to pursue truth instead!
    Kudos!

  4. Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.

BS, Trump was the only one NOT helped by a former Soviet bloc country. The Dems are commies, the Russians are commies. WTF believes the commies would help the non commies in US election. Its a retarded narrative only morons would believe. The Right wouldn’t believe it because its nonsensical, and the left doesn’t believe it because commies are natural allies, therefore literally nobody believed this stupid story, but 3 years later, its still being pushed even though not a single person believes it

  5. Democrats reason for requesting grand jury info is to try and find out what Barr and Durham found in Ukrain. They’re scared.
