As analysts in the media debate how worried we should or should not be about the current coronavirus outbreak, Americans have mixed feelings on the question.
Roughly 58% of those who answered our latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com are “not very” or not at all concerned about coronavirus.
But 11% are pretty concerned or extremely concerned.
Another 31% are in “wait and see” mode.
How concerned are you about coronavirus?
3% Extremely
8% Pretty concerned
31% Wait and see
37% Not very
21% Zero; zilch
Uh, so sorry. In the first sentence of this post, should it be, “…have ·mixed· feelings”?
I’m senior-aged. Maybe language and other things HAVE changed that much in this country?
I’m not dead yet. I guess I’m just testing what remains of my sanity, if any at all does.
You are right! A bad auto-correct without a good proofreading! Thanks
Now, I’m an embarrassed fussbudget. You’re the best.
The more I hear about COVID-19, the more convinced that I become that it is just a s fraudulent as human caused global warming.
Those few of us who nurture our immune systems don’t have to worry about viruses.
Hi Sharyl Attkisson,
You came on my radar screen when you reported in 2009 that the CDC wasn’t reporting the *actual* numbers of H1N1 and in fact told the states to stop verifying.
Guess what? The CDC has stopped disclosing the number of people tested for corona virus:

The man who tweeted the above seems to be under the impression that numbers aren’t being reported because things are far worse. But the hype I see reminds me too much of the last time this happened.
This seems like a good story for you to revisit, if you can pull yourself away from the presidential race….
All best,
Shannon
