Democrats report being twice as worried about getting ill from coronavirus as Republicans, according to a recent Gallup poll.
Republicans and independents express similar levels of concern about both the financial and health risks of the coronavirus pandemic.
The majority of Americans (57%) say they are worried about getting coronavirus. Slightly less than half (48%) say they fear severe financial hardship.
About a third say they are worried to some degree about both becoming ill with the coronavirus and suffering financial hardship.
Women are reportedly more worried about both possibilities than are their male counterparts.
Low-income adults say they are more worried about both possibilities than middle and higher income adults.
There are no reported meaningful differences on these "worry" measures between whites and nonwhites, or by educational level.
