(WATCH) L.A. police object after city partly defunds police for Black Lives Matter: “We’re gonna fight”

Los Angeles police officers are objecting to the city’s decision to partly defund the police department and give $250 million to the activist group: Black Lives Matter.

“If it wasn’t for [police], this city would be burnt down right now…” says a police union representative speaking to Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. “I promise you this union will go to our grave fighting. Will not let this happen to these officers. It’s not right… you’re finding $250 million to give to Black Lives Matter? It was because of Black Lives Matter throwing rocks and bottle at these officers cracking their skulls… you guys are listening to them? What about these law abiding citizens… all they want is these officers to protect them. And now you’re cutting from families?… We’re gonna fight.”

  1. Hopefully, they will win that fight. I wonder what will happen if the LA police walk off the job in protest?

  2. This is one of the most outrageous things I have ever heard in my life. BLM has plenty of $$$ and many more donors than LAPD. These people are absolutely dangerous to our society. But who is going to stop them? Democrats have run California into the ground. It’s insane.

  3. WELL IF THEM COPS WALK OFF THE JOB NOW. WHAT (WILL ) HAPPEN . A LESSON FOR THE REST OF AMERICA. AND CALF IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR IT TO START . THE RICH WILL BE POOR AND THE POOR WILL BE RICH. WHEN THE HELL STOPS. AND THE POLICICIANS AND AUTHORIES . WILL BE GONE .

  4. I left California 40 years ago and haven’t looked back. I remember the 1960s vividly, L A Riots, Black Panthers causing a riot in my high school, Black Power, Vietnam War Protests and the Weathermen, to name the prominent movements. . The Democrats had bankrupted the state and Ronald Reagan put it in the black again. The good, bad and the ugly. So now, the animals in the zoo want to fire the zoo keepers and the gutless, disgusting Democrats want to appease the racists Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, and others to defund the police. This has got to be a coordinated hit to cripple and destroy our Republic. George Soros must be running around gleefully clapping his hands together……this is his life’s dream coming true. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNITED STATES!

  5. Hopefully, the allocation of $250 million of taxpayer funds is treated in the same manner as funds allocated to government use. I.E. Disbursement of funds based on a budget outlining the use of funds, as well as an objective way to measure the effectiveness of the programs receiving the funds. It would be great to see that funds go towards programs similar to those created by the Woodson Center such as the VFZ (Violence Free Zone), the, Neighborhood Leadership Development Institute (NLDI), and the Community Leadership Enterprise, all of which have quantifiable metrics demonstrating effectiveness in cities around the country. THESE PROGRAMS REDUCE CRIME and TRANSFORM LIVES in troubled neighborhoods.

  6. Geez Geoff, sounds like you have given this a whole lot of thought. The problem is that historically all these programs actually do is enhance the bank accounts of the crooked administrators that run them. Just open your eyes. What are all those “tents” lining the streets of LA, SF and other once beautiful cities? AND in other “cities around the country”?
