Violence has wracked some of America's cities from Washington D.C. to Portland, Oregon.
Police have not stepped in to quell some of the assault and rioting, which is frequently videotaped and goes unpunished. In some cases, they are prohibited from taking action.
In the vacuum, some ordinary folks are trying to take matters into their own hands to protect their property or themselves and fight back. Street justice is ruling the day in some pockets of violence-torn cities.
This can create an even more dangerous situation for all concerned.
