According to The Washington Examiner:
Facebook booted a popular Virginia Second Amendment advocacy group from their platform but would not elaborate on the justification for the ban.
“If they did this to us, it’s just a matter of time,” said Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League. “I think we’re a high-profile group and that’s why we got singled out. Those who aren’t as high profile as we are, I’m sure they’re on the chopping block next.”
Facebook confirmed that it had banned the page but declined to provide a justification for the action.
“This was correctly actioned and we will not be republishing,” Facebook spokeswoman Kristen Morea said.
Van Cleave said that the group’s Facebook page had never advocated for violence or been involved in calls to protest the results of the 2020 election but was used to communicate with members and keep them up to date on the organization’s legislative efforts.
The Virginia Citizens Defense League used the page to call attention to Gov. Ralph Northam’s 2020 gun control policy proposals, helping to organize activists who worked to block the legislation.
The permanent ban of the group is the second time Facebook has taken action against it. Facebook banned the organization in January before restoring the page and admitting the ban was issued in “error.”
People want to stay with Facebook and Twitter and force them to allow the users to post groups and opinions that users know these platforms do not agree with. These platforms only want to track your data to sell, and they want to keep you engaged with topics they care about and promote. If they can’t lead you and if you block their ads and trackers, they have no use for you. They know your family and friends will stay when these platforms kick you off.
So, you think there is no where else to go. Hate speech sites, the media tells you. Hate speech sites, Big Tech tells you. Well, Twitter had to be forced by DOJ to remove child porn, after numerous takedown requests by the VICTIM. Article in New York Post, if you care. Facebook is proven to be a harbor for sharing child porn, and revenge porn, via messenger and in groups (requests). So, it’s “hate speech” vs child porn and other vicious ACTS. Gab allows no illegal activity and NO porn. Minds bans illegal activity too, but it does allow legal nudity, as far as I know, in groups. I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s there.
If you support child porn, keep using Facebook and Twitter, by all means. If you don’t want to support it, leave Facebook and Twitter and never look back. Tell your family and friends. Tell businesses and organizations.
Just my opinion on the matter. Do what you like, but my choice is for 1st Amendment free speech that is allowed in front of city hall, versus actual hateful and abusive acts perpetrated on children and those who can’t protect themselves.
