Former U.S. women's gymnastics coach John Geddert is reported to have taken his own life after being charged with two dozen crimes, including human trafficking and sexual assault.
Geddert coached the gold medal-winning 2012 U.S. women's gymnastics team.
He reportedly had ties to sports doctor Larry Nassar, who is serving a life sentence for sexually assaulting some of the country's top gymnasts under the guise of medical treatment.
Geddert's name came up during Nassar's court hearings in 2018.
Police say Geddert's body was found at a rest area today just hours after he was scheduled to turn himself in on the Michigan charges.
