New federal election law would expand controversial state practices used in 2020 nationwide


If you think Congress and the federal government do an efficient, honest job at the various missions they are tasked with, then you will likely support the Democrats’ proposed Election Reform law that would transfer election authority from states to the federal government.

“For the People Act of 2021” has already been passed by the House and requires Senate approval to become law.

It would codify once and for all many of the state-level changes implemented without state legislative approval just ahead of the contested 2020 presidential election.

Supporters say it implements important reforms that lift barriers to voting. Opponents say it opens the door more widely to fraud and abuse.

The Epoch Times has outlines some of the key changes that many Democrats favor but many Republicans oppose. They include:

  • Giving the federal government, rather than states, authority to administer elections
  • Dictating how challenges to the law can be filed, forcing any lawsuits challenging its constitutionality to be filed in Washington DC through a single attorney
  • Forcing automatic voter registration in all 50 states, automatically registering everyone who has given their information to agencies such as universities and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
  • Allowing illegal immigrants to vote by protecting them from prosecution if they vote after being registered automatically through agencies such as DMV
  • Mandating online and same-day registration (in time for 2022)
  • Eliminating witness signature or notarization requirements for absentee ballots
  • Forcing states to accept absentee ballots at least 10 days after Election Day
  • Prohibiting election officials from confirming eligibility
  • Prohibiting election officials from removing ineligible voters
  • Banning voter ID laws
  • Encouraging registration of voters under age 18
  • Permitting felons to vote unless they are in prison for a felony at the time of the election
  • Mandating early voting
  • Legalizing national vote-by-mail without photo ID or witness signature
  • Promoting ballot harvesting where one person gathers and returns groups of votes on behalf of other people without a limit on number
  • Requiring “Campus Vote Coordinators” at colleges and universities, rewarding those with high voter registration by giving them grants
  • Mandating drop boxes be available for 45 days for absentee votes
  • Requiring curbside voting

    What is most self-destructive and dangerous about this is that: 1. It gives credibility to the charge that Democrats don’t care only about power, not legitimacy; and 2. It strongly contributes to the already growing perception that all elections, including the 2020 Presidential election, are and will continue to be, fraudulent political sideshows. The current President, whether one believes Trump’s accusations or not, lacks credibility. Because of that he will likely find himself increasingly unable to lead the Nation. It may well be that, as some argue, he doesn’t care. However, the danger for all of us, Democrats included, lies in the fact that this will further fuel calls for “secession” or a “new American Revolution”. We must remember that it was the perceived illegitimacy of English rule over the colonies that led to our first revolution. The only hope for saving our Republic from its own self-destruction lies with the Democrats in the Senate. They must recognize and reject the foolish and short-sighted nature of this effort to politically profit by destroying the credibility of the American electoral process.

  3. It’s a manual for how to rig an election. How does anyone justify voting yes for this? How does it even get to congress.?

  5. Concerning election censorship the following is my reply to an email I received from representative Matt Gartz last week. After this post was removed the OAN website I have yet to receive any explanation from them why.

    I beg to differ with you as recognizing J. Biden as a duly elected
    president. Until investigations are completed into all alleged election
    stealing as brought forward by multiple accounts of legitimate evidence,
    certifying or recognizing Biden as the winner of the election is just
    as illegitimate as the election itself.

    The citizens of the United States are currently controlled by a de facto
    government who’s only interest is itself. I am sad to learn that you
    give even a glimmer of legitimacy to government imposing it’s self-interests above those of it’s citizens.
