Owners of girls’ reform school charged with abusing students

The owners of a Missouri girls’ Christian reform school are charged with hundreds of counts of abuse against 16 of their students.

The investigation was reportedly initiated by the couple’s own daughter, who led the effort to shut down the school.

The allegations include physical, mental, and sexual abuse.

The following is an excerpt from a report in The Kansas City Star:

Calling the abuse at a southwest Missouri reform school “extensive and horrific,” Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced Wednesday a long list of charges against its owners.

Boyd and Stephanie Householder, who owned Circle of Hope Girls Ranch in Cedar County until it closed in September, have been charged with 102 crimes — all but one are felonies — that include statutory rape, sodomy and physical abuse.

“The charging documents allege extensive and horrific sexual, physical and mental abuse perpetrated by the Householders,” said Schmitt, who held a news conference at noon Wednesday at the Capitol in Jefferson City.

“With 16 victims so far, we believe this to be one of the most widespread cases of sexual, physical and mental abuse patterns against young girls and women in Missouri history.”

  1. If found guilty let’s not turn the other cheek but prosecute to the full extent of the law. Also, if they are a tax exempt organization, they should lose it retroactively and pay it all back to Governments that gave them that break. Finally, put in place the means to properly monitor such organizations for the safety of those that are there and have regs with teeth!

  2. I’m not sure if this is the proper site for this, but I have a story that needs to be investigated.
Starting in 2006, the Post Office was forced to overfund their retirement by over 80 % or 8.8 Billion.
They were forced to fund 75 years worth of retiree benefits in 10 years. (The National Rural Letter Carrier March 2021 issue)
This money goes into the general fund, and to my knowledge, is not saved for retirees.
Where has this money been spent?
How has this effected the Post Office’s current budget issues?

Why don't we ever see, "Chelsea Clinton, appalled by parents' corruption, father's sexual predations, initiatives investigations" or "Malia and Sasha, concerned with reports, vow to get to the bottom of Donald Young's murder" etc., etc,?
