Do your own research. Make up your own mind. Think for yourself.

Dated: June 26, 2021 by Sharyl Attkisson 24 Comments

The following is a promotional post

New for summer (You'll probably want more than one of these)!

Sharyl Attkisson has donated approximately $100,000 in the last few years for good journalism causes.

"Do your own research. Make up your own mind. Think for yourself."

"Some animals are more equal than others."

"I'll have my news uncensored."

"If you can't debate it...it's not science."

A few of you asked how to support the escalating cost of maintaining SharylAttkisson.com content that helps it remain "free" to visitors.

I am working hard to fight censorship and narrative trends, and to publish otherwise hard-to-find information here through personal donations to good and independent journalism causes.

And a few of you asked for me to sell products consistent with the philosophy of open information and discussion.

Now, I've merged all of the requests and missions into one answer: The Sharyl Attkisson store!

Proceeds go to independent journalism causes such as: the Sharyl Attkisson ION Awards to encourage original, fair reporting at journalism schools; The Brechner Center for Freedom of Information; Freedom of Information conferences; funding University of Florida student journalism initiatives; Project Censored; and the cost of this website that's free to all visitors.

We have products with slogans and sayings that are fun and will let everyone know you're an independent thinker! Find something for yourself or your independent-minded friends and family.

Visit the store today, share it with your friends, and support independent journalism while you shop!

This Article posted here Reminds me of things ( Principles in rights ) this Country was founded on and to ponder about ? Example current Times debate = The House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties holds a hearing on civil asset forfeiture reform ? = Are we to believe and Ponder on removing the Statue of A Women with with a blind fold covering her eye's, Holding up the equal scales of Justice ? And replace that statue with that of one with the self Notions of Trickery deceptions of any current or future political party or parties, esculating from the idea's of the Founding fathers solid idea's written in stone ??? Further thought = We should remain with other past solid statement idea's of Abraham Lincoln, that All men all equal and with other principles by the constituition rights and not ponder with the politics idea's of a Few !

Or maybe a Bill of Rights board game? Where you advance (or retreat) for knowing facts about the Constitution/Bill of Rights.

Can you revive the “Kill Your Television” bumper stickers? Or put the slogan on a coffee mug or other apparel?

I think the expression "Think for Yourself" has been traced back to the 16th century Sufi mystic, Baba Ganoush.

Particularly regarding Covid and the Covid vaccines, the left has mocked the idea of "doing your own research," by claiming that this implies that we claim to be highly-trained scientists with our own private labs.

This typically snarky approach is intended to shame us into compliance with whatever they - Democrats, corporate media and Fauci - demand of us. Of course, the left's claim is ridiculous, since "doing one's own research" simply means listening to the competing claims of various experts and familiarizing ourselves with the numerous studies that are being done both here and abroad. It also means being exposed to news accounts from other countries, accounts which often do not find their way into our own media complex.

The censorship of the MSM and Big Tech have reached the point where "doing our own research" is an absolute necessity if we want to get the whole picture on most important topics.

Hi Sharyl, check out PodcastIndex.org as another place to list your podcasts. It looks to be a solid open source to list podcasts to help combat "big tech". I'm recommending all podcasts I listen to check it out and get added to their index. Thanks!

    Hi Sharyl,
You ask people to notice how differently the news covers one person or issue vs another. I thought this trucker made an astute comment about media criticism of the Canadian Truck Convoy:

    Hi Sharyl,
I'm putting my comment here because there's not a related article on your site.

People have been paying a lot of attention to Bill Gates' investment in and promotion of vaccines and the handling of the pandemic over the past two years, but I haven't seen much coverage of the other things he's been involved in, eg
Did people know that Bill Gates was building a nuclear power plant in Wyoming? Holy Cow. This one slipped by me:
Bill Gates, Warren Buffett building nuclear reactor in coal-rich Wyoming
Also, is nuclear power considered green (no carbon) or not green (Fukishima, Three Mile Island, Chernobyl)?
    https://nypost.com/2021/06/04/bill-gates-warren-buffett-building-nuclear-reactor-in-wyoming/
    https://fukushima.news/2021-11-16-experts-review-fukushima-water-release-plans.html

As of 2021 Gates was the biggest private owner of US farmland, and through his foundation he appears to have control of the world's seeds:
    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/apr/05/bill-gates-climate-crisis-farmland
    https://strangesounds.org/2022/03/warning-bill-gates-has-taken-control-of-the-global-production-and-warehousing-of-seeds.html

"Farmers’ seed heritage was held in the private seed banks of CGIAR, a consortium of 15 international agricultural research centers, controlled by the World Bank, the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations, as well as of course the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), which since 2003, has poured more than $720 million into the CGIAR centres. CGIAR gene banks presently manage 768,576 accessions of farmer’ seeds. Taken together, CGIAR gene banks represent the largest and most widely used collections of crop diversity in the world.[3]"

Bill seems to expect that he will have a say in how the world is run, and people seem to continually meet his expectations (Oh, but Omicron-- you escaped his grasp, you rascal!). He's been quite busy in the food and energy sectors while everyone else has been trapped at home, masked and panicked. Will he jump into crypto currency next?

“Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world.”
    — Henry Kissinger

Doin' my own research, thinkin' for myself 😉

    all best,
    Shannon

"IBM again approached Bill Gates. Gates in turn approached Seattle Computer Products. There, programmer Tim Paterson had developed a variant of CP/M-80 . . . The system was initially named "QDOS" (Quick and Dirty Operating System), before being made commercially available as 86-DOS. Microsoft purchased 86-DOS, allegedly for $50,000. This became Microsoft Disk Operating System, MS-DOS, introduced in 1981.”

I am a 15-year veteran of Silicon Valley. I was there. Yes, I knew Steve Jobs, Steve Wosniak, and many others. It was a fairly tight-knit community back then.

Bill Gates did not write MS-DOS. He had nothing to do with the graphical user interface, the mouse, the Internet development, or the invention of the browser. Bill Gates did not make Bill Gates rich; IBM did. When their personal computer took off all Bill Gates (with Paul Allen) had to do was to deliver a “master floppy” with a bootable MSDOS on it and sit back and watch the money roll in.

Mr Gates is not the tech wizard the main stream media wants to tout. He doesn't even have a college degree. Gates was simply a beneficiary of unique circumstances (and stupid IBM management decisions). Yes, I worked for them too.

Thank you Sharyl for your tireless work in investigating what seems to be never-ending serial atrocities; from Fast and Furious to the COVID-19 pandemic. I've used my training in Computer and Data science to sift through various data sources, from experts with proven track records to data from the government itself. It is interesting that a simple count of vaccine death patterns found in the FDA VAERS (https://vaers.hhs.gov/) database is all one needs to know that something is very wrong with the COVID-19 vaccines.

Please keep doing what you do best. It is appreciated.
