I regret that my [CDC] coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the Journal of Pediatrics.
My primary job duties while working in the immunization safety branch from 2000 to 2006 were to lead or colead three major vaccine safety studies. The MADDSP MMR-Autism Cases
Control Study was being carried out in response to the Wakefield Lancet study that suggested an association between the MMR vaccine and an autism-like health outcome.
There were several major concerns among scientists and consumer advocates outside the CDC in the fall of 2000 regarding the execution of the Verstraeten study.
One of the important goals that was determined upfront in the spring of 2001 before any of these studies started was to have all three protocols vetted outside the CDC prior to the start of the analyses so that consumer advocates could not claim that we were presenting analyses that suited our own goals and biases.
We hypothesized that if we found statistically significant effects at either 18- or 36-month thresholds, we would conclude that vaccinating children early with MMR vaccine could lead to autism-like characteristics or features.
We all met and finalized the study protocol and analysis plan. The goal was to not deviate from the analysis plan to avoid the debacle that occurred with the Verstraeten Thimerosal study published in Pediatrics in 2003.
At the September 5 meeting, we discussed in detail how to code race for both the sample and the birth certificate sample. At the bottom of table 7, it also shows that for the
nonbirth certificate sample, the adjusted race effect statistical significance was huge.
All the authors and I met and decided sometime between August and September 2002 not to report any race effects for the paper. Sometime soon after the meeting, where we decided to exclude reporting any race effects, the coauthors scheduled a meeting to destroy documents related to the study.
The remaining four coauthors all met and brought a big garbage can into the meeting room and reviewed and went through all the hard copy documents that we had thought we should discard and put them in a huge garbage can.
However, because I assumed it was illegal and would violate both FOIA and DOJ requests, I kept hard copies of all documents in my office, and I retained all associated computer files.
I believe we intentionally withheld controversial findings from the final draft of the Pediatrics paper.

I also thank God for another honest Truth Seeker – the late Dr. Hal Huggins, DDS, Masters in Immunology. Since 1984, I had suffered from severe chronic fatigue, severe chronic headaches (1990) and then with the headaches severe depression (1991). As an NP with over 20 years in the medical field and thrust into this covid debacle I knew something was wrong.
Prior to working in covid I had worked in the midwifery center of our large community health clinic and many parents either refused vaccines for their kids or agreed on an alternate schedule. I honestly thought they were just ill informed or crazy. At the same time I was dealing with my oldest teenage son who had been in and out of psychiatric wards, put on tons of antidepressants and mood stabilizers, and been in and out of therapy and psychiatric care.
As these parents told me why they didn’t want to vaccinate their kids or do an alternate schedule I started to see a counselor (about my kid) he gave me a questionnaire to fill out re: my son and told me to have other family members, friends, teachers fill one out as well. When he scored it he came back to me and told me my son probably had Asperger’s….I read the book by Tony Attwood, a recommendation from this counselor-“All About Asperger’s” and that is when EVERYTHING came together…EVERYTHING. My son wasn’t depressed, bipolar, I wasn’t the worst mother in the world-he had Asperger’s; and had it for a long time. I never put the puzzle pieces together.
I ramble on to make a point: We all were taught to know the schedule and abide by the schedule, vaccines help and do no harm, therefore follow the schedule. All of the doctors and especially the pediatricians abide by this same view, otherwise are demonized and shunned, I’ve seen it with the doctor I worked with at the midwifery center. No other doctor or pediatrician in this huge community health clinic would see her patients-they flat refused. Why? Because they weren’t vaccinated, or didn’t follow the schedule.
Fast forward to covid and they have used the EUA via the PREP ACT to push for these covid vaccines over other valid and cheaper medications. And they are hiding data…AGAIN. And people are dying, and kids are dying; and long term effects (I believe), will happen AGAIN.

My kids were babies at this time, and WE PARENTS KNEW the autism increases had to be the vaccines, but the doctors waved it off and said that was not the case. I pressed them hard before finally consenting to the vaccine. Thank God (literally), they were okay. But I have several friends who were not so lucky. These people will have to face God someday to answer for their crimes against humanity.
From Dr. Thompson’s original 2014 report: “The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism.”
From the report above: “…the adjusted race effect statistical significance was huge.” (What that “race effect” was is not stated, hence the reference to his original report.)
In other words, African-American males who were vaccinated suffered a greater incidence of autism than did vaccinated white males by a statistically significant margin. (and not just barely significant either, as indicated by the word “huge.”)
One theory, supported by several pieces of evidence, is that autism incidence is related to a deficiency in vitamin D3. And black male children generally have a higher degree of D3 deficiency than white children. I tend to think that the D3 deficiency triggers a genetic tendency toward autism because autism tends to run in families, but not every child in a family is affected. That could be accounted for by each child in a family having varying levels of D3 due to different sun exposure, etc.
Assuming the report is accurate, it also suggests the possibility that vaccines cause autism in all races, but far less frequently. The greater D3 deficiency in black children was just of a sufficient magnitude to cause the relationship to stand out statistically, whereas the incidence of D3 deficiency in white and Asian children is lower and the autism incidence didn’t rise to the point of being statistically significant. That comports with the many reports from parents of such children who have reported almost immediate changes in their children’s behavior following vaccination, where a previously normally-developing child suddenly expresses non-normal, and even regressive, behavior and development.
Ms. Attkisson deserves credit for pursuing this story relentlessly regardless where it leads and despite the criticism she receives for pushing “fake news.” If we had more honest reporters like her our country would not be in the mess it now is.
I re-posted this information from a CNN self-publishing web-page years ago on fb, when it was first reported that Thompson had admitted this in a recorded phone conversation. Days later, I started receiving phone calls to my unlisted land line from his aforementioned agency. They also found my address and sent mail to my husband offering to give me the “proper” information about this topic. Still have the letter. Creeps.
I learned a lot of this information about vaccines thru Ty and Sherry Bollinger’s expose’–” “The truth about vaccines”, wherein they interview several medical, scientific, research, etc experts to show all the dangerous ingredients, the suppressed info on side effects, deaths, etc associated with vaccines, and all kinds of important stuff the public should know. So, basically the vaccination for MMR is making black kids stupider than they already are. Explains the increase in the crime rates .
