(POLL) Voters strongly disapprove of job Congress is doing

A majority of voters, 54% say Congress is doing a “poor job.”

That’s according to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey.

Only a scant 17% of likely U.S. voters rated Congress as doing a “good” or “excellent” job.

The findings are even worse than the last measure from Rasmussen Reports in April when 21% rated Congress “good” or “excellent.”

This isn’t unusual.

Since 2007, positive ratings for Congress have only reached as high as 25% one time: in February 2017.

  1. Incomplete reporting from a professional journalist.?

We have no idea if 17% is average, above average, or below average.

The piece implies below average, but we need much more historical data for context.

All we get here is there was a 25% positive rating in 2007.
    Were there data before 2007?

At the very least, we need to know the following:

    (1) When did this survey begin?

    And:
    — What was the lowest positive rating ever, and in what year?

    — What was the highest positive rating ever, and in what year
(perhaps that was 25% in 2007?)

    — What is the average positive, neutral and negative rating since the survey began?

One chart would answer all the relevant questions.
