The Afghanistan crisis, the border crisis, Covid-19 controversies, rising consumer prices, questions about his mental acuity– yet President Biden still ranks slightly higher than President Trump did at the same point in their presidencies.
That’s according to the Daily Presidential Tracking Poll by Rasmussen Reports.
President Biden hit the 44% mark on Friday compared to President Trump’s 42%.
Meantime, in 2017 at this point in his presidency, Donald Trump was garnering headlines for being a target in Mueller’s “Trump-Russia” probe that ended up fizzling out, moving to end the “Dreamers” Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) illegal immigrant program, and ongoing media accusations of racism.
Trump hit a high point his first year in office year on Jan. 26, 2017, with 56% approval compared to Biden’s 48% at the same point.

What was the polling breakdown? Rasmussen has a habit of oversampling Democrat voters in their polls.

All things being equal, if the mainstream media were treating Biden the way it treated Trump, Biden’s popularity would be in the single digits.
Poll numbers mean little other than to political pundits looking for a talking point. They have been abused and used by polititcians and media alinke as a tool to put forth and fortify an agenda or pre arranged talking point. Another valid point, when Trump was at this stage of his presidency , his innaugeration had been boycotted, Dems and Media had already called for impeachment and Media was running with the russia Hoax and laughing at the claim He was spied on, Pravda was conservative free press by these standards
Leads at this point but likely by the margin of error in these polls. Factor in how 90% of the media are Biden sycophants and 2022 should be interesting.
Remember, Trump was hated from the moment he announced. Negative press, made up stories, people from his own party, the Swamp, being vocal about how bad he was, etc. The difference is there was a love fest for Biden and now people who supported him are regretting it and learning how bad he really is.
Rasmussen isn’t “Democrat controlled”. The difference is look at how the press was treating each President at their respective times. Trump was being eviscerated by the media and his polls still held on. Biden is being protected and proclaimed by the media and this is as high as they can push him. This reveals that the fundamental popularity of Trump far exceeds that of Biden which makes perfect sense. Have to be able to read in between the lines. Rasmussen does a great job of reporting as-is values but it’s up to us to understand the context.

This is true if you believe in any of these polls. Personally, I believe the majority, if not all, of all polls are corrupted. If they want me to believe their results, they should start publishing their results but also the methodology used. It is very sad that we have got to this point. The distrust in any organization is currently very high. Integrity is sorely lacking.
