(READ) Top NIH scientist raises alarm about vaccine mandates: ‘The way we are using the vaccines is wrong’

The following is an excerpt from the Epoch Times.

A top infectious disease doctor has raised alarm about COVID-19 vaccine mandates despite top federal officials recommending them for businesses, schools, and other institutions.

Dr. Matthew Memoli, who runs a clinical studies unit within the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases—headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci—is scheduled to argue against COVID-19 vaccine mandates during a Dec. 1 seminar hosted by the agency, according to David Wendler, a senior NIH bioethicist who is planning the seminar.

“There’s a lot of debate within the NIH about whether [a vaccine mandate] is appropriate,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s an important, hot topic.”

Memoli had told Fauci in a July 30 email that he believes “the way we are using the vaccines is wrong,” adding that mandated vaccines are “extraordinarily problematic,” according to the WSJ.

In comments to the paper, Memoli said that he supports COVID-19 vaccination in high-risk groups including obese people and the elderly. However, widespread vaccinations for people who have a low risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19 could hamper the U.S. population’s ability to develop more robust protection against the virus via previous infections, he said.

  1. It seems that some cracks are finally appearing in the wall of the fortress that the media and medical establishment have built around the reports of adverse effects associated with these vaccines. Too many people have either experienced these affects themselves or know someone who has.

I’m repeating myself, but EVERY drug ad you see on TV, and EVERY OTC medicine you buy, comes with warnings of harmful side effects and warnings that some people should avoid the medicine entirely, or use it only after consulting a doctor.

All of that has been swept aside with these Covid-19 vaccines, which are being indiscriminately recommended for – even forced upon – everyone, regardless of their personal situation and personal medical history.

The US fatality rate for REPORTED Covid-19 cases is 1.6% for all age groups and risk factors. (Because the disease is often asymptomatic or has only minor symptoms, there are probably millions of cases that never show-up in the statistics.) Moreover, it is well-known that the Covid-19 death rate is likely inflated due to the widespread practice of attributing a death to Covid-19 even when other health issues were as likely, or more likely, to have been the principal cause of death. For most healthy people, Covid-19 poses little threat, even as the threat posed by the vaccines looms larger every day.

Given all of this, there is something weird in the rush to universal vaccination. Is it possible that – even for medical professionals – this has become a battle of wills more than a sound medical strategy? Has it come down to, “You will take this vaccine because I say so, you stupid rube!” vs “You can’t make me, Dr. Mengele!” Has this dynamic been exacerbated by the perceived (and probably overstated) political differences between the vaccinated and unvaccinated? It sure seems like it. Once again, we see the dire effects of the politicizing of science.

    1. If the so called medical scientist can’t agree with the mandatory vaccination for all then shouldn’t that end it!! Obviously there must be more!

  2. I’d say her job is at risk. . I don’t see that she is obese or elderly so why would she take the jab. Maybe she is one of the 40% in THE agencies that didn’t but now would be required to.

  3. I am a nurse with 37 years devoted to my patients and worked for the same company. I submitted a religious exemption along with my lawyer submitting it and since I have many serious and life threatening allergies, I was told by allergist that I should go to a high risk clinic 3 hours away but When I called I could not get scheduled and the hospital would not take a message. The allergist said they were banned by the cdc to give medical exemptions. My doctor wrote not to mandate me and I was fired for not getting the vaccine. I am 61 and traumatized by this whole experience.
    This is abusive .
