(READ) 10 hospital closures

Dated: December 13, 2021 by Sharyl Attkisson 6 Comments

The following is an excerpt from an article in Becker's Hospital Review

From reimbursement landscape challenges to dwindling patient volumes, many factors lead hospitals to shut down.

Below are 10 hospitals that have closed or announced plans to close in the past year.

  • West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health plans to close two hospitals by the end of January. The West Reading, Pa.-based system will close Jennersville Hospital in West Grove, Pa., on Dec. 31 and Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa., on Jan. 31. The closures will result in the loss of more than 800 jobs.
  • MercyOne Oakland (Neb.) Medical Center closed July 1 after years of declining inpatient and emergency department volumes. While inpatient and emergency services ended, clinics at MercyOne Oakland and its affiliate, Lyons (Neb.) Family Medicine, remain open.
  • Community HealthCare System-St. Marys (Kan.) closed in June, according to the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research. The Sheps Center defines a hospital closure as the cessation in the provision of inpatient services. The hospital's clinic remains open, and physical, occupational and speech therapy, X-ray, laboratory and other services are available. (Continued...)

Yes Jane. People scared to attend a hospital lest they come out more sick than when they came in. Its a shame that resources have been all directed towards Covid-19, when so many other ailments prevail in society. Reality is, that this man-concocted pandemic is only really beginning now. About 15-20% of medics have quit, and we have viral breakout being registered globally with these vaccines. The scientists are telling us that a booster can be created that can capture the changed protein strand through MrNA technology (omicron). Reality is, that the virus is not clearing in the bodies of the vaccinated, and this long term lingering is what creates ADE. Another question is: is it possible for the immune systems of the vaccinated to read Delta and Omicron at once? This has not been proven with MrNA. I'm convinced the real load up on the hospitals has not come yet. Brace yourselves for the worst. Many have been compromised.

It would be interesting to see how many hospitals closed since the implementation of Obamacare.
That in itself drove hundreds of hospitals to close. Payments dropped significantly since the government required “DRG Payments - diagnosis related payments for both inpatient and outpatient
Claims. One set payment for ex. Appendectomy-that was to cover all charges that related for that procedure no matter if there were complications or not. Also overwhelming restrictions and regulations. Obama destroyed our healthcare system.
