AdventHealth system in Florida will no longer require employees to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
The hospital released that news after a federal court temporarily blocked the Biden Administration from enforcing certain mandates earlier this month.
There have been continuous battles and backlash over the mandate requirements for several months. While the outcome of the court fights remain to be determined, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, has signed legislation making it easier for people to opt out of the mandates.
One lawyer involved in interpreting the confusing status of mandates says there is great confusion.
Companies are absolutely confused about how to proceed, whether they can in fact have a mandate, a COVID vaccine mandate. No idea when it’s going to actually be resolved, fully resolved but certainly it changes on a daily basis.

According to the Wall Street Journal, other large healthcare systems, like Tenet Healthcare and Cleveland Clinic have also recently dropped their healthcare worker mandates.
