(READ) Hundreds of Google employees push back on Covid-19 vaccine mandate

The following is an excerpt from Becker’s Hospital Review.

At least 600 Google employees have signed a manifesto going against the tech giant’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements, CNBC reported Nov. 23.

The manifesto asks Google leaders to create a new vaccination mandate that is “inclusive of all Googlers” and claims that the company’s decision will affect the rest of corporate America, according to the report.

It also asks Google workers to “oppose the mandate as a matter of principle” and argues that Google should not have a record of employees’ vaccination status.

Google asked its more than 150,000 employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and upload a copy of their vaccination status to its internal systems by Dec. 3, according to internal documents viewed by CNBC.

The requirement is for all employees, whether they come into the office or work remotely.

  1. I am a mid level manager with a Fortune company that has about 100,000 employees and contractors. The company has been pressuring employees to take the jab. They held a prize giveaway in September amounting to about $100,000 total prizes. Seems not enough “registered” so they held another ending in October with even more rewards. At the end of October, they announced they were extending it to the end of November along with a thinly veiled threat of termination for non compliance. (Not enough participants I suspect.) This week they let it be known that over 40% of employees remain jab free. There is no way this company can survive if they lose 40% of their work force and they most certainly know that. We are winning, hold the line!

    1. This is such good news, stay with it!!! We work in the tech industry also and do NOT support any kind of vaccine mandates. They are a recipe for disaster. We can’t even believe that our society would consider it.

  2. I received two separate emails from the director of a union, first one saying my last day of work if I couldn;t prove I’d been jabbed at least twice, and today;s saying my last day will be 3rd December which is less than 24 hours away. I am, so glad you are speaking up and I have been all along. As of tomorrow I won’t have a job, so will have more time. Thank you for standing up with me.
