Shortly after being sworn in, Virginia's new governor Glenn Youngkin rescinded the mask mandate for Virginia schools.

Republican Glenn Youngkin was sworn-in as Virginia’s 74th governor, succeeding Gov. Ralph Northam (D). He delivered his inaugural address at the State Capitol in Richmond. Gov. Youngkin provided an overview of his legislative priorities, highlighting issues like keeping kids in the classroom, lowering taxes, support for law enforcement, and economic development.
