Now, the NYT is lying and claiming that the Republican Party is saying that the violence at the Capitol on January 6th was justified political speech.. This was a calculated misreading of a recent Republican letter criticizing the January 6th committee for treating anyone who criticized the election or helped organize the January 6th rally, or who peacefully attended the rally, as aiding and abetting an attempted overthrow of the US government.
NO Republican congressperson has defended the actions of those who fought with police, broke windows, and knowingly entered restricted areas. It IS true, however, that most elected Democrats supported BLM throughout an entire summer of rioting and looting, criticizing them rarely and only in muted tones. The overall impression was of virtually unconditional support.
The nonstop lying and gaslighting continues. I fear that it is part of a calculated effort to provoke some sort of violent reaction that will be used as a justification for ending our liberties once and for all. It is becoming clear that the left will not tolerate any resistance to their plans.
