As President Joe Biden gets ready to roll out a new tax plan with increases said to be targeting the wealthy; 62% of American adults say they pay more than their fair share of taxes.

That number is up from 51% last year, and exceeds the previous high of 59% in 2020.

That's according to Rasmussen Reports.

Interesting results. Aren't we still under the Trump Administrations tax program, which is what the GOP will be fighting to keep in place?

Good question. As a follow on, what has changed from 2019 to 2022? Let's forget rising gas prices and inflation which increase sales tax paid. Instead, let's focus on personal income tax. My personal tax situation improved after passage of the "Trump tax cuts" in 2017. In 2021, pay raises and COVID refund checks caused my personal tax bill to rise. What about people who saw their minimum wages increase? Did the increase push them into a higher tax bracket? What were the income ranges of people questioned? Has something changed in the past year or so and does it need to be changed back? Sadly, it is highly unlikely that our highly partisan media will do any objective investigation into the matter.

With half the country paying zero taxes, everyone who pays is paying more than their fair share.

As I've gotten older, and at the same time my income declining, I'm paying more as a percentage of my income in taxes. I lost the head of household rates along with the exemptions for my kids.

It's not the amount, nor the percentage of my gross income, that I pay in taxes, which is around 10% (after exemptions and deductions and such) that I object to, it's how my taxes are spent, or more precisely wasted.

I'd gladly pay twice what I'm paying in taxes if they went to fair wages to improve our infrastructure and national security. I won't pay it for earmarks, welfare and other handouts to those who refuse to work.

If I was Joe Biden and lawmakers in Washington I'd sign executive orders to pUT cap limits on rising speculative Fuel and Food Hike prices ! Do to Covid and Russia economics. And i'd get other countried involved in New speculative prices hiking caps.. Americans shouldn't have to pay for Sins from the World ? First from China not catching Covid strain when it first started with there 5G network keeping a eye on there own people that did not pan out ? Now with Russia causing economic damages ? New economic immunization executive price caps ?
