The following is a news analysis
No matter where you stand politically, a growing body of facts raises the question: Is there systemic corruption or misfeasance at work inside Americaโs intelligence agencies?ย
By that, I donโt mean people stealing money. I mean officials who are stealing our privacy โ using the tools of intelligence-gathering and law-enforcing, which are meant to protect Americans, to instead spy on them, to gather information that isnโt the governmentโs business (at least not without a courtโs approval). And, in some instances, it appears, to punish or silence those with whom they disagree โ personal and political foes, in and out of governmentย โ rather than to pursue and protect Americans from the countryโs real enemies.ย
Perhaps more alarming is the growing evidence that suggests some officials at all levels in intelligence and justice agencies are operating in a way that is clearly intended to serve their own political beliefs and interests โ not the publicโs interests.ย
And sometimes, it appears, they operate not just in direct defiance of their superiors but of the Congress, the courts and the very laws of the land as well.ย (Almost as disturbing, Congress, for its part, seems all too willing to allow all of this to take place, when it becomes known, rather than using its authority to stop the misfeasance, punish the miscreants who lie or stonewall, and protect their constituents.)ย
This is not, in my view, a partisan political question.
The evidence leading us to ask such a disturbing question indicates there are forces inside our intelligence agencies that are more persistent and powerful than any single political party or administration. They can usurp the intentions of the many fine intelligence officers serving our country.ย
The following examples are not a comprehensive list; instead, they are a representative guidepost that demonstrates the cause for concern while showing that this is not a new phenomenon or one confined to a single administration:ย
Telecom takeoverย Joe Nacchio, CEO of telecom giant Qwest, said that after he refused to spy on his customers for the National Security Agency (NSA) without a warrant in February of 2001, theย government retaliatedย by yanking a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars and filing an insider trading case against him. He went to prison. The government denied charges of retaliation.ย
Olympic spyingย In 2002, the NSA reportedly engaged in โblanket surveillanceโ of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, collecting and storing โvirtually all electronic communications going into or out of the Salt Lake City area, including โฆ emails and text messagesโ to โexperiment with and fine tune a new scale of mass surveillance.โย NSA officials had denied such a program existed.ย
Spying on Congressย In 2005 intel officials intercepted and recorded phoneย conversationsย between then-Congresswoman Jane Harman (D-Calif.) ย and pro-Israel lobbyists who were under investigation for espionage. In 2009, someone โ exactly who was never revealedย โ leaked Harmanโs โunmaskedโ name to the press. In 2011, intel officials captured private communications between then-Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) and a Libyan official. The wiretappedย recordingsย were later leaked to the pressย โ again, by unknown sources.ย
Journalist โwitch huntsโย Internalย emailsย from a โglobal intelligence companyโ executive in 2010 stated:
โBrennan is behind the witch hunts of investigative journalists learning information from inside the beltway sources. Note โ There is specific tasker from the [White House] to go after anyone printing materials negative to the Obama agenda (oh my.) Even the FBI is shocked.โ
The name โBrennanโ appears to reference then-U.S. homeland security adviser John Brennan, who went on to become CIA director.ย
Misleading on mass spyingย On March 12, 2013, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told Congress that intel officials were not collecting massย dataย on tens of millions of Americans. NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden soon revealed material that proved Clapperโs testimonyย false: The government had been gathering and storing data from ordinary Americansโ phone records, email and Internet use.ย
More spying on Congressย CIA officials improperly accessed Senate Intelligence Committee computers, according to an Inspector Generalย reportย in July 2014, contradicting denials by then-CIA Director Brennan. Meantime, Obama intel officials secretly captured communications of a half-dozen members of Congress and organizations in the U.S. whileย wiretapping Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.ย
NSA privacy violationsย In fall 2016, the government confessed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court โsignificant non-complianceโ of crucial procedures designed to protect privacy rights of U.S. citizens. The judge accused the NSA of โinstitutional โlack of candorโโ and declared: โThis is a very serious Fourth Amendment issue.โย
Intel mutiny?ย Government requests to see or โunmaskโ names of Americans whose communications are โincidentallyโ captured during national security surveillance are supposed to be rare and justified. Yet Obama administration officials made them on a near-daily basis during the 2016 election year. U.N. Ambassador Susan Riceย admittedย under pressure that she โunmaskedโ senior Trump transition officials who met with a foreign official under surveillance at Trump Tower. In early 2017, the CIA, NSA and FBI refused congressional requests to provide a list of unmasking requests made by Obama officials. Meantime, the FBI also stonewalled Congress about the opposition research โdossierโ against Trump that the FBI obtained during the campaign.ย
Politically motivated press leakย In May 2017, former FBI Director James Comey secretly orchestrated a โleakโ to The New York Times of negative memos he said he wrote contemporaneously about President Trump, with the motive of spurring the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the presidentโs alleged Russia ties. Special counsel Robert Mueller (who has served under Presidents Reagan, Clinton, Obama and both Bushes) was appointed a short time later.ย
Conflicted investigatorsย One purpose of special counsel investigations, such as the Russia investigation being led by former FBI Director Mueller, is to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest. But multiple investigators working on Muellerโs team have been removed after being caughtย in compromising positions. They include FBI agent Peter Strzok who sent a questionable text message to a fellow agent with whom he was having an affair. The message talks about needing anย โinsurance policyโ in case Donald Trump were elected president.ย Think all this really doesnโt matter to you, as a private citizen? You never know. Reality hit home for me when multiple computer forensics reports confirmed extensive government surveillance of me while I reported for CBS News during the Obama administration. Rather than cooperate or expose the bad actors, todayโs Department of Justice is opposing my lawsuit over those intrusions in Virginia federal court.

Who needs several years to find 10 times the FBI, CIA or other intel agencies violated the Constitution? I'd be surprised if it took a month to find 10 times, even back in 2017
Congress allows it to happen and continue, if an agency refuses to testify or provide documents then the funding is cut to zero. If a director or other official lies to Congress they should be prosecuted and imprisoned. Not for a couple of months, for years, if not decades. Not only does Congress do nothing, they reward the agency with increased budgets.
If they violated FISA rules or lied to FISA courts. Imprison them, for years
This is scary stuff and I don't know what can be done about it.
If you ever feel that you need additional 'fire-power' on your personal security detail, feel free to contact me.
I hope you and the rest reading this understand what you wrote, it has been a long time coming. I am a disabled US Marine and have seen with my own eyes in some aspect that was completely true and clear that we have some men and women in our government that are bad actors.
But here is how I put the answer to all the frustration and endless lies to the citizens of the United States of America.
STOP ELECTING THE SAME PEOPLE TO CONGRESS AND SENATE.
If we are to get control of our government officials and make sure they are helping all of us. Then we have to understand that they have not been playing by the rules, here is an instance that I personally asked a question and was lied to my face.
I asked Congress Woman Val Deming's as she has a Law enforcement officer for decades as well as her husband, what facts or documents are available for me to read about the proof that President Trump was colluding with Russia. The same facts Congressman Adam Schiff said he had on national TV.
Answer:. It was classified, really that was the answer I got.
What really got me is I have a top security clearance in place even to this day, and she had to another appointment so she asked me to leave.
So the beginning of the this statement I said, do not re-elect the same people into office good or bad. If we as Americans don't start holding them all responsible for either not working together or just not doing what's best for all Americans citizens.....
Then we all need to fire them and elect new people to do what we want them to do not as they please, democrats or republicans.
RE: Intel mutiny
That is about the time to tell the directors that you want the requested information on your desk in the morning or their resignations. That would have started with Swamp Creature Sessions.
Mueller: I believe at least one felony occurred with Mueller's appointment and another when Mueller accepted. Rosenstein for appointing and Mueller of accepting. The latter applies to all the attorney's Mueller brought on board.
+ A special prosecutor is appointed to investigate a specific crime. There was no crime to investigate.
Don't surprise me none ? I been complaining to News agencies in emails about this activity since 2001 , they tried to tell me I had lobsters crawling out my ears making it all up ? I'm surprised the Securities and exchange Commission is not going after these people for insider securities fraud ??? Intel Hackers inside resulting in city and county and computers being hacked with insider high risk cyber securities fraud = bad engineering putting devices at high risk ? And exploiting under age children as well and us all on these devises ? Shhh ! Don't tell ? D.O.J.
