Hospital CEOs are joining ‘The Great Resignation’

The following is an excerpt from Becker’s Hospital Review.

The number of departing hospital CEOs is on the rise as C-level executives are grappling with challenges tied to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Twelve hospital CEOs exited their roles in January, double the number who stepped down from their positions in the same month a year earlier, according to a report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, an executive outplacement and coaching firm.

At least eight hospital and health system CEOs have stepped down from their positions since mid-February.

The increase in CEO departures isn’t unique to healthcare.

More than 100 CEOs of U.S.-based companies left their posts in January, up from 89 in the same month a year earlier, according to the Challenger, Gray & Christmas report.

The question is, why are they resigning? The fear of lawsuits? Disagreement with federal health mandates? Pressure from above or below (i.e., unhappy and rebellious staff; hostile governing boards)? Added stress due to the Covid epidemic?

  2. I’d like to think that maybe some of them are being guided by their conscience. Insisting that employees be fully vaccinated against their wishes may be something they no longer want to do.

  3. No conscience from these hospital system CEO’s ($17 million salaries). They took the money from government & pharma, did their bidding. Fired doctors& nurses. Now taking their golden parachute. Off to some island or bunker.

  4. Maybe these CEOs know that it is criminal to not allow the doctors to choose the options for therapy, eg. ivermectin, HCQ, etc., and instead shove Remdesivir on patients? Maybe they also know it is amoral to write death certificates “died of covid” when they died of other factors, like a car accident, etc? No doubt it is a wide range of factors that have led them to leave their posts, including a reluctance to get and give these experimental gene-therapies, especially given the wide array of adverse events, including deaths.

  5. End of the graveyard train. That is why they are leaving. The question of morals? Well if they did have any they would not have stayed as long as they did. Follow the money. In Texas it wasn’t the highest pay per death at 184000 but if all you got was 20% on thousands dead you could live very well in Southlake or Colleyville Tx or pick one near Austin?:). Follow the money. Fools in my opinion! Evil really:).?

  6. I listened to a video interview this morning and the idea came up these people who pushed the spike shot are even afraid of being within rifle range of a grieving family member.

  7. They love to say that “they follow the Science and that the Science is changing”. We know that Science does not change, only their “interpretation “ of science changes and they show their extreme ignorance on a daily basis. You don’t get to commit crimes against humanity on “Science”.

  8. 1. Stress
    2. High turnover due to mandates
    3. Conviction knowing that forcing experimental science is wrong and against the law.
    4. Lawsuits
    5. Best staff leaving including doctors and nurses due to abuse of power from the government, etc.
    6. Forcing hospitals to be politically correct.
    7. Many patients died due to misdirection from cdc
    8. Medical credibility was hurt due to misleading information and propaganda.
    9. Pfizer nine page adverse reactions released only due to federal judge stepping in.
    That’s just a start
