(READ) CDC at a loss to explain surging hepatitis liver damage cases in children

Dated: May 18, 2022 by Sharyl Attkisson 3 Comments

  • 36 states have reported 180 mysterious hepatitis cases in children
  • 9-15% of the children have required liver transplants
  • Numerous countries are reporting simultaneous surges in similar cases
  • CDC says it has no idea what's causing the illnesses
  • The surge has happened since children were approved for Covid vaccines
  • CDC surveillance for pediatric hepatitis cases of unknown origin dates back to Oct. 2021 when Covid vaccines were first approved for young children
  • Some public health experts have ruled out the vaccine as a culprit since not all of the sick children had gotten vaccinated
  • CDC says "adenovirus has been detected in nearly half of the children and continues to be a strong lead"
  • A different variant of adenovirus is used to make the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine
  • CDC recently limited use of the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine citing another reason: blood clot risk
  • Some scientists say that when it comes to vaccines, it's possible for viral changes to occur that end up impacting populations that were not vaccinated
  • CDC says no deaths have been reported so far

Update on Children with Acute Hepatitis of Unknown Cause

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to work with health departments and clinicians nationwide to identify and investigateย hepatitis of unknown cause impacting children. As of today, 36 states and territories have reported 180 pediatricย patients under investigationย over the past 7 months, which is an increase of 71ย from the 109ย publicly reportedย on May 5.โ€ฏย

While this may appear to be a large increase in patients under investigation over the last two weeks, itโ€™s important to understand that the vast majority of these are what we consider โ€˜retrospectiveโ€™ patients. Since CDCโ€™s investigation looks at patients reported back to October of 2021, most of these numbers involve patients that are just now being reported, rather than new cases of hepatitisย โ€“ so notย all are recent, and some may ultimately wind up not being linked to this current investigation. Additionally, there have been no reported deaths since February 2022, and the proportionย of patients requiring liver transplants has gone down from 15 percent to 9 percent since May 5. โ€ฏย

CDC continues to examineย possible causes, including testing for and ruling out some of the viruses that commonly cause hepatitisย (hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E).ย Adenovirus has been detected in nearly half of the children and continues to be a strong lead. Further laboratory tests are being conducted to look more closely at the virus genome and other potential pathogens, such as SARS-CoV-2. In addition, CDC is communicating with key medical groups and continues to provide updated reporting and laboratory guidance for clinicians who may identify hepatitis of unknown cause in children. A Community Outreach and Clinician Activity (COCA) call is scheduled for Thursday, May 19th, where CDC will provide key updates and experts in treating hepatitis will answer clinical questions.โ€ฏย

Itโ€™s important to note that severe hepatitis in children remains rare. However, we encourage parents and caregivers to be aware of the symptoms of hepatitis โ€“ particularly jaundice, which is a yellowing of the skin or eyes โ€“ and to contact their childโ€™s healthcare provider with any concern.โ€ฏโ€ฏย

CDC will begin posting regular online updates specific to the number ofย patients under investigationย on a weekly basis. As we learn more, we will share additional information and updates.โ€ฏย

This is Environmental = Some strain in Food Water causing Metabolic genetic cell damage results... In all these cases would have track down Common associations linked to cases... I seen a case in the past where the CDC had to Run a special out of the ordinary hidden Test to find the answers.. Cannot remember at this time . Maybe a special colored Acid Stain test to see strain show up, that was never realized before in medicine, Check into Good Luck ??? Cannot remember ?

Typical of the CDC to not even mention the possibility of the Covid vaccine being the culprit.
