What happens to a society when a large segment of the public has lost faith in its institutions?
In the US, that currently includes loss of faith in public health system, medical establishment, justice system, FBI, public officials, public agencies, school system, election system, polls, and media. Have I left anything out?
Fcc. NTIA. DOJ
Yes, Milley's Defense Dept.
Half the people believe they will fire on the people and half believe they will mutiny when ordered to do so.
I cannot think of a single dept I have faith in today.
If they do fire, my only hope is that those fat chair jockeys Milley and Austin lead the charge. But we all know they won’t.
Religious institutions generally utterly spineless, wokeful, and irrelevant, so much so that you did not think to include them 🙂

Loss of faith…..certainly……I maybe splitting hairs but, I see a loss of trust. Rebuilding trust is going to be a long, hard road.

Collectivist moral relativism has eroded the individual's innate abilities to trust themselves. This "interest in unity" is so pervasive folks fear free expression. It is disappointing and troubling to see family and friends openly preach censorship over free expression. The loss of our primary value in individual personhood (the ultimate minority) is indicative of how well Marxist indoctrination in our schools and religious bodies is working. It is all fear based and destructive but those accustomed to darkness embrace collectivism over liberty because it is safe and familiar.
I agree with your premise. Indoctrination is the disease. The lack of critical thinking is worse than any virus

I see it as the end of a cultural cycle. A few observers note that these cycles occur at approx. 150 year intervals. The breakdowns re the authority of established institutions we are witnessing are part of the cycle. Empires have a shelf life and experts are rendered obsolete at the end of the party. As for the events of the last 3 years--the institutions that supported the deceits and fabrications of the exaggerated plague event cannot be trusted. The authorities revealed the corruption that is endemic within the hollow halls of an obsolete and inept health management program. The 'taxation without representation' debacle is part of the systemic problem--and Oligarchy is the culprit!
Just a comment on institution vs the people who run them. . . . . I am convinced it is best to differentiate between losing faith in an institution versus losing faith, condemning the people who we have entrusted those institutions with. Institutions have rules and structure and processes that typically have been refined and coordinated to work well on behalf of the people, but it is the fallible leadership and shysters and politicians who bend, ignore, overrule, apply biases and all sorts of other bad behaviors at the detriment of the people and the reputation of the good institutions. The system is only broken because we have weak people running those institutions. The system is only broken because we need to do better at discouraging and "dis-incentivizing " bad players. Starting with voting in good people into office. Don't throw out the institutions or lose faith in them, just throw out the bad actors. Can we differentiate these?
And yet-- we may also find truth in the idea that institutions or agencies may suffer from systemic corruption. This means that no matter how honest and good-natured an employee might be, they are hamstrung to step outside the box. As two examples of this, I cite the FBI and CIA. Many good people work for these agencies(that are now integral to the Capitalist Security State)and yet, the facts speak for themselves.
When felons are arrested and released without bond or are charged with ridiculously light sentences this encourages lawless attitudes. The same goes when someone like Nancy Pelosi engages in self enriching insider trading and is not even questioned for breaking the law/abusing her office. Laws become suggestions and the populace becomes indifferent to them.
I joke with friends that if Nancy can break the law on such a scale then I'm gonna drive in the HOV lane solo. LOL
Look up your government agencies. There are 47+ alphabet soup agencies your tax dollars are supporting and they are not voted on by you, the citizen tax payer. I have no confidence in any thing the US government does. How dare they keep slamming over 65 ers on SSA that it's going broke and the cost of Medicare. Those stinking alphabet agencies need to go, period and I have to remorse in saying this. Each Senator and Congressman should have their wages frozen for the next 20+ yrs. So to make them budget their fixed income and feel what we Seniors have to do. I'm not going to get started in that IRS soup! The government doesn't value the elderly or the unborn.
I wonder if that is the plan?
