(POLL) Failing marks for US health care

The following is an excerpt from The Associated Press (AP).

A new AP-NORC poll shows fewer than half of U.S. adults say health care in general or for older adults is handled well in the country, including only about 1 in 10 saying either is handled extremely or very well.

Fewer than a third say prescription medication costs or mental health care are handled well.

More than two years after the pandemic’s start, health care worker burnout and staffing shortages are plaguing hospitals around the country.

“Navigating the American health care system is exceedingly frustrating,” said A. Mark Fendrick, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Value-Based Insurance Design. “The Covid-19 pandemic has only made it worse.”

And Americans are still having trouble getting in-person medical care after health centers introduced restrictions as Covid-19 killed and sickened millions of people around the country, Fendrick said.

In fact, the poll shows an overwhelming majority of Americans, nearly 8 in 10, say they are at least moderately concerned about getting access to quality health care when they need it.

  1. We have learned that the allopathic medical system created by Carnagie and Rockefeller is Not about health care. It’s sick care. Keeping us sick and making us sicker to get as much money out of us as possible before we die. I learned this over a few decades of personal experience. The drug-pushers called M.D.s have rarely followed the Hippocratic Oath in my experience!

  2. Wokeness has taken over our medical system and we have doctors who never challenge the narrative because they believe in government having the solution. Covid makes the case for systemic problems.
We had hundreds of doctors, experts and scientists telling what they were doing was wrong and yet just like most of what government does “if something doesn’t work do more of it AKA Joe Biden and company). Not to mention paying the hospitals premiums for following certain protocols and using certain drugs. Meanwhile we know that most of the seriously effected patients were overweight with issues like diabetes. With all the computers, databases and college educated people the government couldn’t make the connection that was right in front of them.

  3. We needed them. They failed us. Our children, our seniors, our athletes literally dying for intervention and protection from the medical community. We asked for treatment options.
We got nothing but vaccines. Untested.
Mostly useless and likely dangerous vaccines.

  4. I just paid $204 for 7.5 ml (a teaspoon and half) ear drops for a painful ear infection that was moving into my jaw. Basically had to have it to live choosing that over family necessities. First time I’ve had to sacrifice necessities. I feel bad for those making this choice on a regular basis. It would wear on your mental health
