The countdown to the midterm elections is now just weeks away and more Republicans than Democrats say they are “very excited” to vote.

That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.

The national survey finds that 79% of likely US voters say they are excited about voting in the midterm elections, including 53% who say they are “very excited.”

Eighteen percent (18%) say they are “not excited” about voting in the midterms.

Sixty-four percent (64%) of Republicans say they are “very excited” about voting in the midterms, compared to 56% of Democrats who say they are “very excited.”

Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 38% describe themselves as “very excited” about voting in the midterms this fall.

In May, Republicans had a 16-point edge over Democrats – 62% to 46% – among those who were “very excited” about voting in the midterms.

One encouraging sign for Democrats is that nearly half (49%) of unaffiliated voters say the issue of abortion rights will be “very important” in this year’s congressional elections.

However, this is offset by the fact that significantly more men (57%) than women voters (49%) describe themselves as “very excited” about voting this November.
