White House seeks $47 billion in emergency funding for Ukraine, Covid, monkeypox, etc.

The following is an excerpt from Becker’s Hospital Review.

The White House requested $47 billion in emergency funding Sept. 2 to support response efforts for the war in Ukraine, Covid-19, monkeypox and natural disasters.

The Biden administration is asking Congress to consider the requests as part of a short-term spending bill to fund the U.S. government after the current spending package expires Sept. 30.

1. Covid-19 funding

The White House is requesting $22.4 billion to support ongoing pandemic response activities, including stockpiling tests and accelerating research on next-generation vaccines

2. Monkeypox funding

The Biden Administration is also seeking $4.5 billion to fund monkeypox response efforts. About $3.9 billion would cover monkeypox vaccines, tests and treatments in the U.S., while $600 million would be used to support global monkeypox efforts.

  1. This administration needs to stop the spending! Do they not understand that we are already TRILLIONS in debt? Not to mention, sending another $47 BILLION to Ukraine! WTF already? We have massive problems here at home, why are we propping up and funding Ukraine? We are not supporting a Democracy there because they are not a Democracy. We are not supporting a NATO member, because they are not a member of NATO. So what gives? It’s too bad we do not have real journalists working in the MSM who could look into where all the BILLIONS of dollars we have sent to Ukraine have gone because I smell a big fat rat here.

  2. What, no looking back on COVID??? Instead of investing in next-generation vaccines and pandemic response, we need answers about the last one…where’d the virus start, who was involved, how was it funded, how many have been harmed/killed as a result of the vaccines, and what concrete steps will be taken to ensure this won’t happen again, and how will we improve the public health response in the future? We don’t need to expand bureaucratic power to push out propaganda (hi CDC and your increased communications team), we don’t need lockdowns or masks or unproven therapeutics and vaccines that don’t work. We don’t need to censor the doctors who take care of us or the researchers who do the work of finding out what’s going on and testing therapies to fix it. We need the money to go to serious people who look out for us…not bureaucrats motivated by power, profit, and propaganda. What happened during COVID is shameful, yet those in power have no shame.

    1. No more spending! Suddenly they care about vaccine research? They’re telling us now to get new booster shots that haven’t even been tested in humans. It’s past time for Democrats to stop sinking this country with their reckless spending. But they’ll do it anyway. God willing, we will vote them all out in November.
