(POLL) Most Hispanic voters do not support open borders

Dated: October 12, 2022 by Sharyl Attkisson 1 Comment

The common assumption that Hispanic voters support open border, unrestricted immigration, or illegal immigration is false, as is the belief that Latinos unconditionally support the Democratic Party.

That's according to Rasmussen Reports and Numbers USA.

Polling results showed that regarding illegal immigration, 52% of Hispanic likely US voters say the government is doing "too little" to reduce illegal border crossings and visitor overstays.

Fifteen percent (15%) of Hispanic voters say they think that the government is doing "too much" to stop illegal immigration, while 25% say the current level of action on illegal immigration is about right.

Hispanic voters' views on illegal immigration appear to be on par with all likely US Voters. Fifty-four percent (54%) say the government is doing too little to reduce illegal border crossings and visitor overstays.

By a 22-point margin, more Hispanic voters identify as Democrats (47%) than Republicans (25%), while 20% identify as Independent, 5% identify with some other party, and another 4% say they are not sure.

However, among Hispanics unaffiliated with either major party, 35% say they lean more toward Republicans, while 31% say they lean toward Democrats.
