(POLL) Most say they’re ‘ok’ with recent House Speaker debate

Ninety-three percent (93%) of those polled say they were “OK” with the recent “fuss” in the House of Representatives over who should serve as Speaker for Republicans.

That’s according to the latest unscientific poll of 1,135 people at SharylAttkisson.com.

Four percent (4%) of those polled said the “Speaker’s Fuss” was “not ok,” while three percent (3%) said they “didn’t care” about the issue.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was elected House Speaker January 7 on the 15th ballot, after a week-long voting deadlock.

McCarthy had a majority of the Republican votes, but a number of notable holdouts, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado), delayed the California representative’s bid to claim the gavel.

Once McCarthy was willing to negotiate and give concessions to several of the holdouts, he was able to clear his path to victory.
