FBI fails to comply with subpoena deadline on Biden-related docs

The FBI has failed to comply with a Congressional subpoena seeking an FBI-generated “FD 1023 form” that allegedly details a bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.

Based on whistleblower disclosures, House Oversight Republicans say the Department of Justice and the FBI possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.

The whistleblower disclosures further state that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose.

The House Oversight Committee is investigating what many see as the Biden family’s suspicious business schemes involving foreign adversaries to determine if President Biden is compromised, and if there is a national security threat.

The Oversight Committee says it has obtained thousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family and its associates’ business transactions.

Recently, the Committee revealed one deal that resulted in several members of the Biden family and their companies receiving over $1 million in more than 15 incremental payments from a Chinese company through a third party.

The Congressional subpoena requires the FBI to produce, in unredacted form, all FD-1023s that contain the word “Biden,” and all accompanying attachments and documents.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky) recently issued statements regarding the FBI’s non-compliance.

While the FBI has failed to produce the specific document by the subpoena deadline, their offer to provide an accommodation process in response to our legitimate request indicates the document is real. So the question remains, what did the FBI do to investigate very serious allegations from an apparent trusted FBI source implicating then-Vice President Biden? Today’s letter from the FBI raises additional questions, including whether the FBI has an open investigation based on these allegations. The American people pay the FBI’s salaries, and they’re entitled to a fulsome response.”

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)

It’s clear from the FBI’s response that the unclassified record the Oversight Committee subpoenaed exists, but they are refusing to provide it to the Committee. We’ve asked the FBI to not only provide this record, but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations.

The FBI has failed to do both. The FBI’s position is ‘trust, but you aren’t allowed to verify.’ That is unacceptable. We plan to follow up with the FBI and expect compliance with the subpoena.”

Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky)

  1. Ms. Attkisson.
Why are you surprised by the FBI’s non compliance? Going back to Hoover, the FBI has always maintained it’s “Independence of pressure” regarding Any congressional, Presidential, or other administrative oversight. They set the stage for the various other alphabet agencies to defer, ignore or just plan refuse to permit any oversight by any elected officials. Their mantra of “It’s pending a sensitive investigation” or “National Security ” or “We cannot divulge this due to the sensitive nature of ” has persisted since the 1930s. It’s a habit. and until these groups are brought to heel through budget controls, they will persist in this behavior. After all, it works for them.

  2. Who ya gonna call? That’s the issue Congress has when they are fighting a corrupt administration that controls the DoJ. Congress has no law enforcement powers so if the DoJ does not want to play ball then Congress is helpless. I don’t know the answer but to give Congress police powers is terrifying when you think of a Pelosi monster with a police force at her disposal! Garland is one of the most spineless AG’s in history.

    1. This nation requires the courage of its own Col. Stauffenberg, a man or woman with close proximity to the evil doers.

  3. GET RID OF THE USELESS, CORRUPT, TREASONOUS, LYING, THIEVING PACK OF DIRTY AHOLES. WE DONT NEED THE COUNTERPART TO THE GERMAN STASSE, KGB SPOOKS and WARLORDS, GESTAPO AHOLES anymore.. THEY ARE KRAP. We pay their salary, but for what? Lies, corruption, dirty tactics and treasonous bullies—. People are fed up. We pay them….let’s take their money away. They are not worthy of it or even a place in this society.

  5. Why should the FIB comply? They are a power unto themselves, and Congress has shown themselves to be toothless farce, except when it comes to persecuting private citizens. Its not like Congress controls their budget and could cut them off cold, or has a Sargeant at Arms and a security force that could do something like, I dunno, “detain” relevant officials until their departments comply.
Just picture an official sitting in front of a Congressional hearing declaring he isnt going to comply for the 5th time and suddenly getting cuffed on camera.

While republicans should be ousting McConnell and McCarthy as two of about a hundred of saying nothing during the coup.

  7. Recognizing Truth

    Well, of COURSE they did.
You didn’t expect the FBI – the “nation’s police force” – to actually follow the law, did you?
They haven’t in many, many years.
And now that everybody knows that -there’s no reason to hide it. Or comply.

  8. Go to the courts and force compliance.
The judges cannot prosecute but they can jail for contempt until the miscreants comply.

Why would the American people (read: servants to the elites) expect anything other than criminal behavior from the FBI, CIA, NSA, IRS, DOJ, et al? Ms. Attkisson, is this article’s first paragraph tongue-in-cheek?
The USA is now nothing more than a borderless, lawless, cultureless, Godless, third-world land mass. There is no reason whatsoever for any of us to comply with any laws at all now. Absolutely none.

  10. It’s HAMMER TIME. Defund them. Starve them. Make them beg for funding. Start with clawing back the salaries of anyone obstructing the Oversight Jurisdiction of the House. Teach them a lesson they soon won’t forget.

  11. And why isn’t Christopher Wray in jail? Because the republicans are phony virtue signaling jerks that refuse to do their jobs.

  12. The FBI and the DOJ apparently believe they are above the law being as they have control of most arms of our executable legal system. Congress can make laws and SCOTUS can rule on the validity of those laws but enforcement remains with the Executive. With our current occupant of the Oval Office we have the MOST corrupt administration in US history, bar none.

At some point the hubris of this administration, the DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA etc will garner the wrath of the people to the point that the only solution will be a second revolutionary war. It won’t be a civil war as it will be solely the people versus the unconstitutional actions of the government.
Biden made the outlandish comment that the people do not have F-15s so firearms would be useless (paraphrasing). IMO that was an insurrectionist statement by a dementia ridden individual with power hungry people working behind the scenes to destroy the nation.
