Feds alerted to whistleblower concern over Hunter Biden business deals in 2015

The following is from Just The News.

Banking whistleblowers first began raising alarms about Hunter Biden’s business deals as long ago as Spring 2015 while his father was still serving as vice president, flagging what they feared were “suspicious” transactions and “fraudulent” schemes.

One of the bankers became so concerned he eventually escalated his concerns to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) only a few days before Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016, according to documents provided to Congress and obtained by Just the News.

“Due diligence on involved parties reveals less than clean records,” a Morgan Stanley investment bank compliance presentation from May 2015 stated, specifically providing a dossier about Hunter Biden’s background, his expulsion from the Navy, his association with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and photos of the future first son with Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

You can view that presentation here.

The presentation is one of the earliest known whistleblower activities to raise serious questions about Hunter Biden and his foreign business exploits.

It triggered suspicious activity reports (SARS) filed by banks and a SEC complaint that would eventually lead to the 2016 indictment of several Hunter Biden business partners in a bond fraud scheme and later FBI and IRS investigations targeting Hunter Biden himself for tax evasion.

While SARS reports are frequently generated by compliance officers in the financial industry, the step of independently reporting information directly to the SEC is much more rare.

The documents obtained by Just the News chronicle the efforts by at least one vice president inside the Morgan Stanley investment bank to blow the whistle on companies affiliated with Hunter Biden and one of his chief business partners, Devon Archer.

The concerns included that the firms may have been involved in a fraudulent bond scheme with the Native American Wakpamni tribe and may have improperly benefited from tax dollars in a separate technology investment.

Eventually two Morgan Stanley officials would file whistleblower complaints seeking investigations with federal agencies, according to interviews of people involved with the complaints.

To date, there is no indication how those federal agencies under Presidents Barack Obama, Donald Trump or Joe Biden handled the information.

The SEC and Morgan Stanley both declined comment Thursday, saying they do not publicly discuss whistleblower cases. Abbe Lowell, a lawyer for Hunter Biden, did not return an email seeking comment.

The documents, however, make clear there were blaring alarms about Hunter Biden and his proximity to suspicious activity as early as eight years ago, much earlier than previously known. “Continued…”

  1. “Banking whistleblowers first began raising alarms about Hunter Biden’s business deals as long ago as Spring 2015 …”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hillary Clinton was behind complaints to the SEC, to help Joetard decide not to run for president in 2016. If you think about it, Joetard was the first person in Hillary’s way to get the democrat nomination, and “Spring 2015” was when Hillary’s secret email server was discovered, so it’s also when Hillary needed to help the news media shift its attention to ANYTHING else. This was before the Trump-Russia Collusion Hoax was invented by Hillary’s henchmen.

  2. 8 years they sat on this information waiting for the statute of limitations to run out. Is there a government agency that is not corrupt from head to heel?

  3. You know, regarding Kilroy’s comment,-it’s true. These federal agencies (that our beloved Congress has saddled us with seem to be a fiefdom of unelected dictocrats. They-in theory-are suppose to represent the commonweal and effectuate its laws. The agencies have nothing to do but to be agents to generate and uphold our laws. We pay for the agencies-and pay their employee-bureaucrats who swarm in each agency office-handsomely to do this.
What this Attkisson report reveals is that they are either ineffectual or corrupt at their jobs. At least in this case-but I have a feeling that “this case” represents ALL agency employees. It’s too bad that civil service laws most likely doesn’t allow them to be dismissed for not only not doing the job the were hired to do-but apparently-especially in this case-assiduously not doing their job.
How do we get rid of this bureaucratic morass that has built up over all these years? We need a strong, non-corrupt President. That’s why I’m voting for Trump. I just hope President Trump will be enough, and like Hercules clean out the Augean Stables of our bureaucracy.
One thing I’m sure of: Biden and any other Democrat will not do a darn thing-except perhaps blink and flutter his/her eyes.
