After this month’s attacks in Israel, American voters overwhelmingly view Hamas as terrorists, and want an investigation of the Palestinian organization’s U.S. supporters.
That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.
The survey finds that 78% of likely U.S. voters believe Hamas should be considered a terrorist organization.
Just eight percent (8%) disagree, while another 15% are not sure.
The Associated Press has sparked criticism for instructing reporters not to refer to Hamas as “terrorists,” but instead as “militants … fighters, attackers or combatants.”
However, solid majorities of voters in every political category – 85% of Republicans, 70% of Democrats and 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party – say Hamas should be considered a terrorist organization.
