(FORUM) The more we try to fix things, the worse they get

The following is commentary intended for discussion. Add your comments.

The more advanced our technology has become, the more our systems and processes have become broken.

The more money we’ve spent on health care and health insurance, the earlier we are dying in terms of life expectancy.

The more medicine we’ve taken, the sicker our society has become.

The more we’ve spent supporting the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the more disease has overcome us.

The more mental health therapy that’s been available, the more mental illness we’ve developed.

The more border patrol agents we’ve funded, the more foreigners have illegally crossed into the US.

The more we’re normalized drug use and mental illness, the bigger the mental health epidemic, addiction, homelessness , and crime problems.

The more vaccines we’ve routinely given, the more chronic illness epidemics have hit our society.

The more news outlets we have, the less real news we get.

Where we’ve legalized marijuana, the illegal drug trade has flourished.

Where we’ve treated criminals as victims, crime has spiked.

The more kids who use social media, the more unsocial they become.

The more expensive college has gotten, and the more who have attended college, the less educated we have become.

The more money we’ve given our intel agencies to protect us against foreign terrorists, the more they’ve used their tools and techniques in an unconstitutional way against US citizens.

  1. Engaging in the forum discussions is both enlightening and somewhat disheartening. It’s interesting to see diverse perspectives on problem-solving, but the sentiment that ‘the more we try to fix things, the worse they get’ resonates with many. It sparks a reflection on the complexities of our challenges and the unintended consequences of well-intentioned solutions. The forum provides a space for thought-provoking discussions and a reminder that sometimes, a thoughtful approach is crucial in navigating the intricacies of problem-solving. Looking forward to more insightful conversations and shared experiences on the forum!

  2. The feedback loops seem to be broken. When you have government agencies making primary decisions and not elected officials, you do not have representative democracy. When doctors work for corporations and government more than they work directly for you, health care becomes less about your health. Perhaps the bigger and more complex the systems, the more entropy?

  3. In each case mentioned, government agencies have lied, covered actual evidence and proliferated the narrative that benefits their power over you and protects their cronies capitalists and donors. Government under Democrats or the deep staters in FBI and DOJ no longer serves the public interest. Any voter with a brain should never vote Democrat again. They are corrupt to their core.
