Nearly half of likely voters, 49%, say they think it’s likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the so-called J6 riot, including 30% who say it is “very likely.”
That number is slightly down after the beginning of the public release of thousands of hours of surveillance video.
That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.

Forty percent (40%) say they don’t believe it is likely the riot was provoked by government agents, including 20% who think it is “not at all likely.” Another 12% say they are not sure.
In April, 65% said they thought it was likely undercover agents played a role in provoking the J6 riot.
Last month, House Speaker Mike Johnson began allowing release of previously unseen video of the riot, caused by supporters of former President Donald Trump who swarmed into the Capitol to protest what they considered a stolen election.
Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters say they have closely followed recent news about the riot videos, including 28% who have followed the news “very closely.”
Thirty-two percent (32%) say they haven’t closely followed news about the videos.
While 31% say the new videos of the Capitol riot made them more likely to think Trump supporters were engaged in an illegal insurrection, 29% are less likely to believe Trump supporters were engaged in an insurrection.
(Nobody has been convicted or even charged with insurrection.)
Thirty-two percent (32%) say the new videos have not changed their opinion much about the Capitol riot.

I believe both the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers have members convicted of seditious conspiracy (insurrection?). For the weeks and months Trump complained of a steal and planned the January 6 gathering it seemed obvious to me that there would be riot by the few and I advised family to stay clear of DC. So many mixed reports but I think this was planned by a small group like the Proud Boyes to disrupt the Congressional count.

Epoch Times has a piece documenting thousands of hours of newly released footage from thousands of cameras around the Capitol. While it does not prove government plants instigated the riots it certainly offers that possiblity, probablity IMO. The problem was some Trump supporters got caught up in the moment and violated the law; with 2 paying for it with their lives.
Contrary to what Phil, comment earlier, states; video shows the leader of the Oath Keepers not one of the instigators as he was peaceful outside the Capitol milling with the crowd.
That the leader of the Proud Boys was found guilty even though he was not even at the Capitol after being detained and forbideen to enter DC, is a miscarriage of justice.

In the opinion piece above, Sharyl Attkinsson says “…the riot, caused by supporters of former President Donald Trump who swarmed into the Capitol to protest what they considered a stolen election”; either Attkinsson is propagandizing or else she inadvertently left out the vital word “allegedly” (as in “…the riot, ALLEGEDLY caused…”, as it has become quite evident (thanks to not-so-recently released “Wooz News” videos showing quite clearly that 99% of the people who showed up before the end of Trump’s speech were “crisis actors” costumed up to LOOK LIKE Trump supporters, whose purpose was to “put on a kayfabe insurrection performance” to sway public opinion against the MAGA crowd (who foolishly believe Donald Kayfabe Trump is “on their side”).
Donald Kayfabe Trump is as phony as the J6 “riot”.
The answer to the question “cui bono?”
