(READ) Ramaswamy on Trump getting booted from Colorado ballot: I will withdraw from state primary unless Trump is allowed

I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same immediately.

Vivek Ramaswamy Issues Statement Following Colorado Supreme Court Ruling, Pledges to Withdraw From Colorado Ballot Vivek calls on DeSantis, Haley, and Christie to do the same
MASON CITY, Iowa — Today, 2024 presidential candidate and political outsider Vivek Ramaswamy released the following statement in response to the unprecedented and unjustified decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to remove former President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot: “This is what an actual attack on democracy looks like: in an un-American, unconstitutional, and unprecedented decision, a cabal of Democrat judges are barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado. Having tried every trick in the book to eliminate President Trump from running in this election, the bipartisan Establishment is now deploying a new tactic to bar him from ever holding office again: the 14th Amendment. I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same immediately—or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver which will have disastrous consequences for our country.

“Today’s decision is the latest election interference tactic to silence political opponents and swing the election for whatever puppet the Democrats put up this time by depriving Americans of the right to vote for their candidate of choice.

“The 14th Amendment was part of the ‘Reconstruction Amendments’ that were ratified following the Civil War. It was passed to prohibit former Confederate military and political leaders from holding high federal or state office. These men had clearly taken part in a rebellion against the United States: the Civil War. That makes it all the more absurd that a left-wing group in Colorado is asking a federal court to disqualify the 45th President on the same grounds, equating his speech to rebellion against the United States.

“And there’s another legal problem: Trump is not a former’ officer of the United States,’ as that term is used in the Constitution, meaning Section 3 does not apply. As the Supreme Court explained in Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (2010), an ‘officer of the United States’ is someone appointed by the President to aid him in his duties under Article II, Section 2. The term does not apply to elected officials, and certainly not to the President himself.

“The Framers of the 14th Amendment would be appalled to see this narrow provision—intended to bar former U.S. officials who switched to the Confederacy from seeking public office—being weaponized by a sitting President and his political allies to prevent a former President from seeking reelection. Our country is becoming unrecognizable to our Founding Fathers.”

  1. “I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same immediately.”

Good for Ramaswamy, but I seriously doubt that anti-Trump Rupert Murdoch’s puppet Jeb DeSantis wants to withdraw, when this is EXACTLY the sort of thing that his fraudulent campaign has been hoping for.

I also don’t see Christie or Haley doing the right thing, either. RINOs need these democrat justices to do their dirty work for them. It’s why it’s called the UniParty.

  3. work online and get paid more than $200 to $300 each hour. I learned about this job three months ago, and since I started working there, I have effortlessly made $10,000 without needing any internet skills. Just try it out on the related website.

  5. Maybe Vivek SHOULD say that he is withdrawing from the race and he encourages the others to do the same to endorse Trump! Just a thought! Nice try Vivek!

  9. Kudos for Vivek saying all the right things throughout the campaign. I beleive the guy has potential but is not ready for the job of POTUS, maybe someday. He should run for public office in Ohio; a House seat or Senator. Trump had enormous name recognition and was a TV personality when he took on 16 politicians, Vivek is too new to the people so the trust is not there yet.

  11. STILL waiting to hear what bigmouth Elon Musk has to say about this.

The CLOWN has opinions about literally EVERYTHING, and spouts them 24 hours per day — AND the media constantly publishes every word out of his mouth as if he’s the postmodern Oracle of Delphi, regardless of whether he knows what he’s talking about or not.

The silence from the world’s biggest bigmout is deafening.

  13. And now California is jumping on the Ban-Trump bandwagon:
“California Lt. Gov. Kounalakis urges removing Trump from the ballot”
    https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/california-lt-gov-kounalakis-urges-removing-trump-ballot

Probably other democrat states will follow, because unlike republican politicians, who ALWAYS find themselves REACTING after something happens, democrat politicians always try to keep pushing a new issue before an old one gets resolved — here, pushing the issue of removing Trump from the ballot BEFORE the Supreme Court can rule on Colorado.

Don’t be surprised if/when democrat-led states call for the Supreme Court to be ignored. This is the critical next step toward the civil war that democrats want while they’re still in charge of the military.
