(POLL) 2024: Voters still not keen on VP Kamala Harris

As the 2024 election campaign heats up, President Joe Biden isn’t being helped much by having Vice President Kamala Harris as his running mate.

That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.

A recent survey found that 41% of likely voters said they have a favorable impression of Harris, including 21% who said they have a “very favorable” opinion of the vice president. That’s slightly worse than last August, when 42% said they had a favorable opinion of Harris.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters now say they view the vice president unfavorably, including 43% who say they have a “very unfavorable” impression of her.

Just 25% say they believe that, as a vice presidential running mate, Harris helps Biden’s chances of getting reelected.

Twenty-nine percent (29%) say they think Harris hurts Biden’s reelection chances, and 43% say having Harris as a running mate will not make much difference for Biden in this year’s election.

While 19% of voters say they believe Harris is doing a better job than most previous vice presidents, 49% say they think she’s doing a worse job than most of her predecessors.

Twenty-eight percent (28%) say her performance is about the same as most previous vice presidents.

  1. My fear has been Biden getting sidelined, with Michelle 0bama filling in at the presidential slot, Harris remaining where she is as VP. Harris does have major donor support.

I read something the other day that if 0bama is put in the presidential slot, she may not be able to use the money donated for the Biden Campaign, but Harris could. That changes things.

  2. Being VP is not an easy gig. You have to go along with the Presidents policies even if you disagree with them. She would certainly be better than Joe in his condition and would have a better grasp of situations going on in the world. If she took control. If she shut down the border, maybe stopped funding the war and called for peace talks in Ukraine. She might do alright, couldn’t be worse than what we have now.

  3. Kamala’s public (professional?) persona is akin to a gleeful schoolgirl who is delighted to be in “The Club.” Her latest slogan, ” …what can be, unburdened by what has been…” is on par with Orwellian doublespeak. A more appropriate job for Ms Harris might be a kindergarten caregiver, serving the kids kool-aid and cookies. Although I wouldn’t entrust my children’s care with this woman.
