(POLL) Is our news more biased than ever?

Hatred of the news media may be at an all-time high, and a majority of voters say the media bias continues to get worse.

That’s according to Rasmussen Reports.

A recent survey found that 61% of likely voters say they believe the problem of bias in the news media is getting worse – slightly higher than our December survey.

Just nine percent (9%) say they think the problem is getting better, while 27% say they think the media bias problem is about the same as usual.

One frequent comment on social media is, “No matter how much you hate the media it’s not enough.”

Forty-five percent (45%) of voters say they agree with statement, including 21% who “strongly disagree..”

Twenty-eight percent (28%) disagree, including 12% who “strongly disagree,” while another 27% are not sure.

  1. Every time I get to the point of thinking that the “news” media has hit rock bottom and can’t get any more dishonest, it always surprises me by breaking through and finding a new, even-lower bottom that people had ever before imagined existed.

They seem to adhere to H.L. Mencken’s famous saying as a sort of religion: “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public” — rephrased by the swindler, Merriweather, in Little Big Man: “The two-legged creature will believe ANYTHING, and the more preposterous the better.”

As always, i find your article timely and illuminating. (Thank you.) However, though i am reasonably sure i know what you meant to say, for logic’s sake, my inner proofreader believes you desperately need to edit this sentence: Forty-five percent (45%) of voters say they agree with statement, including 21% who “strongly disagree..”
