Cities halt water fluoridation over ‘unreasonable health risks’

The following is an excerpt from Children’s Health Defense.

Several cities, including Abilene, Texas, and Yorktown, New York, have decided to halt adding fluoride to their water supplies following a recent federal court ruling. The ruling, issued on September 24 by US District Judge Edward Chen, declared that water fluoridation at current levels poses an “unreasonable risk,” particularly highlighting the potential for reduced IQ in children.

The lawsuit was filed in 2017 by the Fluoride Action Network, Moms Against Fluoridation, and other groups. Judge Chen’s decision concluded that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can no longer ignore the health risks posed by fluoridation and must take regulatory action.

Local officials responded quickly. In Abilene, City Manager Robert Hanna announced an immediate pause in fluoridation “out of an abundance of caution.” Similarly, Yorktown officials cited concerns over health and safety as the reason for ending the practice, noting that alternative methods for fluoride use could be considered.

The ruling has sparked discussions in other cities and towns about the safety of water fluoridation practices, potentially signaling a broader re-evaluation of its use for public health.

  1. People complain about fluoridation in drinking water was a health risk back in the 1960’s. It took this long for the government to admit they were right? Scary.

  2. I’ve been saying this for over 40 years…where you you people been?
I moved out of the city and into the country, got off city water and only drink my deep well water, it helped my wife with some of the issues she was having.
But better late then never, fluoride has been long known to inhibit the brain…that’s why they put it in the water.
They want you just smart enough to run the machines but not smart enough to realize they are enslaving you.

  3. So the John Birch Society was correct about fluoridated water — fluoride turns children’s brains to mush and make them more susceptible to accept communism.

    Well, the evidence is in!
