(POLL) Most say they would not use weight loss drugs like Wegovy or Ozempic

A large majority of respondents say they would not consider using Wegovy, Ozempic, or other semaglutide drugs for weight loss.

That’s according to the latest unscientific poll at SharylAttkisson.com.

Eighty-three percent (83%) say they would not use these drugs to lose weight.

Nearly twelve percent (12%) say they would consider it, while just under five percent (5%) remain undecided.

These results suggest that most people are hesitant or uninterested in using prescription weight-loss medications.

  1. I don’t trust anything from BigPharm. They did this to themselves.
Oregon state study on the waiting list for government MedicAid health care proved this. People on the waiting list ended up being healthier, long term, than those who actually got the government medical care.

They were hoping to prove just the opposite in order to get more funding for government MedicAid health care. But in fact those not getting medical care got the best deal of all. Less is more and first, do no harm doctors.

  2. You might not. I would not. But lots of people are. Just look at the numbers. Maybe fewer will as more information comes to light??? It’s not like it’s not helpful for some diabetics, so it should be available. But it’s the weight loss only use that I find questionable. And people find a way to get it if they want it. There also are people getting the drugs outside the conventional medical channels as usual. If this proves anything, it is that we don’t have good weight loss programs or strategies or maybe we don’t understand weight gain/loss well enough.

  3. I just listened to an interesting podcast with Lewis Howe and Dr. David Perlmutter (?) about the positive results they are seeing in metabolic disease such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s with these drugs. After so many bad pharmaceutical treatments have been pushed on us, it is good to be skeptical, but these drugs may turn out to be very beneficial for some people.
