A former employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has reportedly won more than $12 million for her wrongful firing after she refused a Covid shot on religious grounds in 2022.
Lisa Domski was an Internet Technology specialist at the health insurer.
She applied for a religious exemption to the company’s vaccine mandate saying it violated her Catholic beliefs because the vaccines were developed or tested using aborted fetal cells.
Blue Cross denied the religious exemption and fired her.
Domski sued, alleging religious discrimination. She also said her firing was in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
After a trial on November 8, a Detroit jury awarded Domski “$10 million in punitive damages, $315,000 in back pay, $1.375 million in lost future wages, and $1 million for noneconomic damages.”
The following is from The Defender:
According to the complaint, Domski also alleged that Blue Cross interviewed employees seeking religious accommodations. One of the questions was whether the employees took over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin, Sudafed, Tums or Tylenol, falsely claiming that Tums and Tylenol were developed and produced using stem cells.
Marko told The Defender Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan “denied over 500 religious accommodations” — 75% of the requests filed.
According to Marko, Domski began working for Blue Cross when she was 17. Her firing led to her losing “vision insurance, 401k benefits, bonuses, all the vacation time she earned and other benefits.” She has been unable to find other employment because she lacks a college degree.

We need rulings on refusal to take the covid shots because of their experimental status. It violates a persons right of refusal because of the Nuremberg Code on involuntary experimentation; of which the U.S. is a signatory
Another disgrace is Dr. Robert Malone one of three inventors of the mRNA vacines warned about not giving the vaccine to children while his cohorts remained silent. His cohorts were awarded the Nobel prize in Medicine while Dr. Malone was at the same time ridiculed.
Will any BCBS executives get punished? I think not. Will the BCBS leadership have to pay any of the $12 million? I think not! All I know is my BCBS health insurance went up 13% for 2025. The customers will be paying the $12 million.
