  1. Better and better known systems for patients to report suspected adverse effects from medications or vaccines could provide a lot of data not currently available. Your doctor does not have the time to ask you about any potential side effects or do the reporting. They are already bogged down with excessive electronic health records requirements, coding and other mandated tasks that don’t necessarily improve your care. Patients/consumers sometimes have more awareness of the known and unknown side effects of these products than some doctors do. While proper analysis of symptoms reported and statistical interpretation of a public database is complex, there would be better data collection, better aggregated knowledge and better outcomes if patients were better able to report any issues in my opinion.
