(POLL) 58% disapprove of Biden pardoning Hunter

The following is from Rasmussen Reports.

Most likely US voters say they disapprove of President Joe Biden’s controversial decision to issue a blanket pardon to his son, Hunter Biden. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 58% of voters say they disapprove of the pardon, including 43% who say they strongly disapprove. By contrast, 36% of voters say they approve, with only 19% saying they strongly approve.

President Biden’s pardon decision has ignited debates about its ethical implications and potential damage to his legacy. They say the action could influence public perceptions of accountability within the Biden administration.

The data reveals clear partisan divides. They say 81% of Republicans say they disapprove of the pardon, with 68% saying they strongly disapprove. Among Democrats, 61% say they approve, with 36% saying they strongly approve. Independent voters are more closely split but lean negative, with 59% saying they disapprove and 40% saying they strongly disapprove.

The survey of 1,242 likely US voters was conducted December 4–5 and 8, 2024, by Rasmussen Reports. They say the margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points, with a 95% level of confidence.
