The following information is from Children’s Health Defense.
A recent clinical study published in BMC Medicine has found that carrageenan, a commonly used additive in ultra-processed foods, such as non-dairy milk, frozen meals, creamy salad dressings, and packaged desserts, may harm the small intestine’s lining and contribute to insulin resistance. These effects are believed to increase the risk of chronic conditions such as Crohn’s disease, cardiovascular disease, and Type 2 diabetes, particularly in individuals with higher body weight.
The research, conducted on 20 healthy young men, revealed that even short-term, moderate consumption of carrageenan could trigger gut inflammation and weaken the intestinal lining. This damage reduces the protective mucus barrier, allowing toxins to enter the bloodstream, a condition known as “leaky gut.”
The study’s lead author, Dr. Robert Wagner of the German Diabetes Center, emphasized the potential impact on metabolic health.
“Our study indicates that even a short-term and moderately increased intake of carrageenan may have pro-inflammatory effects in the gut in humans.”
Dr. Robert Wagner, German Diabetes Center
Previous studies have shown that carrageenan exposure in animals can lead to gut inflammation and metabolic disturbances. In humans, it has been linked to an increased risk of Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory bowel conditions like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Research suggests that removing carrageenan from the diet can improve insulin signaling, enhance glucose tolerance, and reduce inflammation. These benefits are particularly important for those with inflammatory bowel conditions, which are becoming increasingly common.
With its widespread use in ultra-processed foods, the findings highlight the need for caution when consuming products containing carrageenan. Avoiding common foods like non-dairy creamers, deli meats, ice creams, and pre-packaged soups could be a vital step toward better health. Individuals at risk for metabolic or gastrointestinal diseases may significantly benefit from limiting their intake.

How hard is this to figure out? And how hard is it to fix? Oh yeah, not hard at all. You simply ban every single ingredient not found in an ordinary kitchen. Does anyone ever add “high fructose corn syrup” to their chocolate chip cookies? Does anyone ever add “propylene glycol” to their meatloaf? Does anyone ever add “MSG” to their soup? Artificial sweeteners? Sawdust? Isn’t anyone tired of living under this system yet?
Here’s the big secret. If we lived in a world where CHARGING INTEREST WAS AGAINST THE LAW, all of this would begin to go away. The fact is, living under a Jewish-controlled usury-based FIAT MONEY SYSTEM causes more pain and suffering in every walk of life than any of you could ever imagine.
Do you know what the first 2 things Hitler did when he came to power?
1: He outlawed interest. This SINGLE ACT brought Germany straight out of the Jewish banker-controlled global great depression and turned them into an economic powerhouse in the time span of like, 2 years. Read your history.
2: He outlawed homosexuality and pornography. Did you ever see those “horrific” (lol) photos of the “Nazi book burnings”? Did you ever notice they never told you what books were being burned? Isn’t that odd? By matter of fact, those “Nazi book burnings” were righteous people burning JEWISH PORNOGRAPHY. What, you didn’t know porn was Jewish? I suppose it’s just a wild coincidence that “Porn Hub” is owned by a Jewish rabbi, then.
You want healthy food? Get rid of the shekel-rubbers running corps like Monsanto and Bayer. And running our banks and big pharma. AND YOU’LL HAVE IT.
I’m retired from a 30 year career in the wholesale food industry and have been screaming for years about ‘Carrageenan’.
I was first exposed to it’s use way back in the late 1970 in cheap and mic-grade cold cuts(deli meats), then a little later in ice cream. It is now in virtually all ice cream brands except the ‘super premium’ brands. It is an extender and absorbs liquid, hence they can ‘cheapen’ products and make more money.
Note – There are other additives widely used today in processed foods they claim are “stabilizers” for instance Xanthan Gum….Carob Gum….Guar Gum. These are all in ice cream in addition to Carrageenan. I can’t eat Ice Cream any more, it make me ‘Sick to my stomach.’
These additives should all be banned, I pray RFK can do just that, and bring back ‘Real food’ to American palates
If you put about 3 tablespoons of powdered carrageenan into a glass, then pour in 6-8 ounces of water……the water disappears. That little carrageenan absords all the water and it turns into a nasty slimy paste.
Please read your food labels folks, and reject buying foods containing this garbage.
Thanks! I’ll look for these things on the ingredients labels. Indeed, they are everywhere. If you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it seems to be a good rule of thumb nowadays. We need a more complete list of additives in food we need to stay away from.
Well I really didn’t care for the pop-over rudely shoved in my face when I came here. If that’s how you treat your readers I won’t be back.
The problem is it’s in most supplements and medicine tablets. It’s what keeps the dry tablets from sticking in ones throat and allows the tablet to slid down smoothly.
